On the 1st of April, the game “Fall Guys” rolled out an update across all platforms, introducing a fresh Ranked Knockout game mode. This new mode offers unique cosmetic prizes for players to collect as they progress through eight ranks. Despite launching on April Fool’s Day, the timing was merely coincidental because this new game mode is here to stay and will receive updates approximately every eight weeks.

Initially launched in 2020, the popular game Fall Guys didn’t incorporate ranked modes similar to those found in games such as Fortnite until the April 1 update. After its shift to a free-to-play model in 2022, Fall Guys introduced a battle pass system known as Fame Pass. This system rewards players with free and premium cosmetic items for their characters, allowing them to customize their avatars. The Fame Pass also offers costume tracks inspired by characters from other games like Final Fantasy 14 and Death Stranding, providing players with unique ways to showcase their individuality as they strive for the coveted Crown.

Players of Fall Guys now have a fresh opportunity to test their friendships and collect rewards thanks to the new Ranked Knockout update. As reported in a blog post from Mediatonic, this update is now accessible on all supported platforms. The PC version requires approximately 3.8 GB of extra space, with consoles requiring similar amounts. The Ranked Knockout mode is split into eight levels called Rookie, Contender, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Ace, Star, and Superstar. Points for ranking are earned based on how many rounds a player advances during a game.

Fall Guys Adds Ranked Knockout Mode

1. All ranks except “Superstar” are further divided into multiple sub-ranks (3 to 5).
2. A player cannot be demoted within these sub-ranks until they reach or surpass the Gold rank.
3. Demotions from Gold level downwards, such as falling from Gold to Silver, are not allowed.
4. Ranked Knockout will follow eight-week cycles called “Competitive Cycles,” and ranks will return to Rookie at the start of each new cycle.
5. The matchmaking system in Ranked Knockout will attempt to place players who play Fall Guys against others with similar rankings.

Mediatonic invites Fall Guys gamers to flag any suspected cheating, as well as bugs or problems they encounter during gameplay. In return, players who do so will receive Ranked Emoticons at the close of every Competitive Cycle. Those who reach the Star or Superstar rank will be given the Supreme Idol Costume.
