The ENA Team recently shared with us the opening act of a truly exceptional independent video game titled “ENA: Dream BBQ.” This game is visually stunning, thanks to its captivating animations, intriguing characters, and engaging narratives, all masterfully crafted by Joel G.

Experiencing life from the perspective of the two-faced, unpredictable character ENA promises an exhilarating journey with twists and turns that defy prediction, allowing ample scope for individual interpretations within the broader storyline.
In this guide, you’ll be led through each stage as you embark on your exploration of the deep web, where you’ll encounter a massive bridge in Chapter 1: The Solitary Gateway.
Beginning the Game

At the outset, you find yourself in a deserted town-like market area that loops infinitely in every direction. Above you, a vast, brilliant red sky is darkened by the ominous silhouette of a colossal figure gliding through the air.
Continue your journey ahead, and eventually, you’ll discover that there’s no way out if you stick to walking in a direct path. Instead, diagonalize your route as you walk along the street intersections, and once you see the lanterns casting their glow, you will have found your destination.
Make your way directly towards the lanterns. Once you reach them, you’ll find a peculiar blue bed sitting in the center of the street. Interact with this bed to recline on it and gaze at the sky above. After doing so, it will magically transport you to the next location.

After that, you’ll end up in a gaming hall reminiscent of a casino. Make your way forward, then ascend the staircase, and you’ll reach a spot where an automated scene featuring ENA and Froggy will play.
It seems your objective involves reaching someone referred to as “The Boss,” but the identity of this person or entity remains unclear. The main obstacle is a vast expanse of blood that stands between you, and according to Froggy, “The Boss” is located at the distant mountain peak that can be seen in the horizon.

Hang on a moment! Before diving into this challenge, make sure you protect your lungs from the harmful smoke surrounding us. Your initial assignment, which we urgently need help with, involves locating the Receptionist.
Entering the Lonely Door

Please retrace your steps and descend the stairway you previously climbed. On your right, you’ll find a fresh passageway waiting for you to explore. Disregard the red substance seeping from behind the counter near the door; it appears to be an unrelated issue for someone else to handle.
It seems the receptionist isn’t particularly thrilled to welcome you. However, ENA is determined, and she’ll assert herself. As a result, you’ll eventually get permission to utilize one of the upper-level Blue Doors.
In the near future, these blue doors will serve as distinct stages or sections within the game. During my initial run of ‘Lonely Door’, I spent approximately one hour and thirty minutes, though the duration may vary based on the challenges you decide to tackle, potentially resulting in shorter or longer play times.
Froggy will contact you during your journey home, instructing you to track down some magical doors and make use of the beings inside, known as Genies, which is a crucial objective in the upcoming chapter.
Go back up top, and you can speak with any of the characters you find there.
You can interact with the character sporting long hair and coral eyewear here, as she’ll provide you with a fax code. This code can serve as a hidden clue following your encounter with the ‘Taski Maiden’ further in the game.

A smoky hue tinted with shades of blue and green, drifting down from above, will act as your guide, much like a celestial spotlight. To access the initial expansive part of the game, walk through the solitary entrance known as the “Isolated Door“.
Finding the Bridge

Froggy will reach out to you later, once he’s inside, to ask if you can locate any remnants of spirits (or magical beings, if we’re using the term ‘bathroom’ in a creative way here) that might be responsible for the smoke. There may be a brief hiccup in our conversation when ENA momentarily misunderstands and switches ‘genie’ with ‘bathroom’.
Engage with the ornate, colorful glass window for a glimpse into the expanse beyond. It appears that our goal lies on a vast, suspended island drifting over the desert landscape.
Head towards the recently opened door to your left, and you’ll step out into the vast expanse of the desert. Various activities can be undertaken by interacting with different characters that you’ll find spread across the area.
If you choose the central route towards the floating island, you’ll encounter Alex the Hoarder who is busy managing a mountain of possessions, both physical and emotional. His excitement may become so intense that he faints, leaving you to resuscitate him before you can carry on your discussion with him.

Remarkably, if you choose to simply wait for the prompt, he’ll eventually perish before your eyes, making it possible for you to cross the bridge without having to complete a whole set of tasks.
“Alex will make it clear that someone’s been tailing him, then he’ll nod towards a distant figure, a peculiar purple humanoid keeping us under its gaze. He’ll say I can’t move on unless we handle this peeping tom first.”
A possible approach is to tackle an alternative job that we have previously discussed for the character Shoryo. In this task, your goal is to gather all his pets so you can receive some chocolates as a reward.
Crossing the Bridge

You should communicate with a character located beyond the desert, who appears similar to a violet vending machine.
In a particularly intense sequence, there’ll be a conversation with him, leading to an emotional climax that’s typically smoothed over. However, professional duties demand our undivided attention, so let’s set aside any personal issues for now.
He runs a store right here, where you can buy the required mayonnaise. If you present him with 10 chocolates, he will provide you with the mayonnaise. This should help you cross the bridge.

Instead, make your way towards the dilapidated-looking structure where a purple figure can often be found. Climb the deteriorating stairs or makeshift platforms to ascend to the next level, and engage with the purple character there.
You’ll encounter an option labeled “Apply Mayonnaise Helmet“, where you essentially place a jar of mayonnaise on his head, acting as a makeshift helmet that obscures his view. Does that sound about right?

Approach Hoarder Alex again, but be prepared that he might find it amusing to think you would leave him after everything that’s happened. A sequence unfolds where the purple humanoid stands still in the dilapidated building, his eyes flickering red through a jar of mayonnaise.
This version maintains the original’s tone and narrative structure while using more natural, conversational language to make it easier for readers to understand.
Alex will become terrified and flee quickly, avoiding distant laser attacks that would otherwise cause an explosion, leaving him as a stiff, limp figure in an animation. Yippee!
Over the bridge lies your path to seek out genies, put an end to the smog, and perhaps discover a restroom along the way.
