However, after the revelations Moiraine and Rand encountered in Rhuidean, it has become increasingly challenging for them to remain idle. Meanwhile, Egwene was left reeling when she witnessed Lanfear kissing Rand in her dreamscape. Yet, Egwene remains unaware that Rand has been conversing with Lanfear for some time now, and they have confided in each other deeply.

Egwene is on a quest to uncover Lanfear’s true intentions, as she poses a threat by trying to sway others towards the Dragon Reborn. Simultaneously, Moghedien is curious about Liandrin and the Black Ajah’s activities in Tanchico. Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Two Rivers are enduring hardships due to Perrin and Alanna’s injuries sustained during their confrontation with the White Cloaks. As we move forward into the sixth episode of The Wheel of Time Season 3, tensions rise, and the risks associated with completing each mission become increasingly perilous.

Liandrin’s Past Unveiled and the Race for Power in Tachinco

In the third season of “The Wheel of Time,” episode 6, viewers are transported back in time, finding Liandrin confined in a small, dimly lit cell. She cradles a wailing infant, soothing him by softly assuring that he dislikes crying while looking apprehensively at the door. The baby soon calms down as two men burst into the cell, demanding she surrender the child. Liandrin refuses and, when one tries to attack her, she employs her powers to eliminate both assailants. Escaping the cell, she frantically seeks aid in the city but is ignored by everyone. Overwhelmed, she rests beneath a statue. Soon after, a man’s voice echoes—it is Ishamael, one of the Forsaken’s most powerful members. He offers his assistance to Liandrin. In her dreams, Liandrin encounters Lanfear, who commands her to assassinate someone and threatens retribution if she fails. Meanwhile, the Black Ajahs are on a mission to recover missing artifacts that were previously placed upon statues in Tachinco. Their leader anticipates their discovery, and failure is not an option. As they persist in their search, Moghedien lurks in the shadows, silently observing Liandrin’s dialogue with the other Black Ajahs, waiting for the opportune moment to strike.

Instead, Nynaeve, Mat, Min, and Elayne are preparing to locate Liandrin in Tachinco. To avoid being identified, they have chosen to wear disguises and conceal their faces. While they are also on a mission to find certain items, it’s crucial that they find Liandrin first, as she might use these powerful objects to aid the opposition if left unchecked.

Egwene’s Struggle in the Dreamworld and Rand’s Unstable Power

As Nynaeve and her group pursue Liandrin, Moiraine and her companions carry on their travels following their visit to Rhuidean. After seeing a distressing vision, Egwene confides in the Wise Ones that she ventured into the Dreamworld alongside Moiraine. The Wise Ones express their anger at her actions, but Egwene explains that she wishes to thwart Lanfear in Tel’aran’rhiod. However, they warn her that it’s not possible there, but she does possess the ability to do so in her dreams. In a separate encounter, Moiraine encounters Lanfear in her dream, who queries her about what she discovered in Rhuidean. She chooses not to disclose anything, and Lanfear suspects that Moiraine is aiding her to prevent her from killing her. Their exchange ends with Lanfear hinting at a surprise for Rand al’Thor that he must manage. Simultaneously, Rand al’Thor is cultivating friendly relationships among the tribe’s people.

In my own words, I find myself grappling with the challenge of barring Lanfear from my dreams. Accompanied by the Wise Ones, I venture into my Dreamworld, and they instruct me to expel them from this realm. They sought to test if I possessed such power. Initially, I struggled to comply, but eventually, I managed to eject them from my dream. Unfortunately, matters took a turn for the worse when I too was expelled from my dream, only to find myself shackled to a wheel-like monument. Without hesitation, Lanfear confronted me about what I had witnessed in the dream previously and asked for my reaction. I asserted that Rand al’Thor remains unaware of her reality, to which she retorted that he is indeed aware. Refusing to succumb to her, I warn her that if Rand learns she harmed me, his forgiveness would be withheld. As soon as these words left my lips, Lanfear tightened her grip around my neck, and I was awakened from my dream. The Wise Ones encourage me to remain strong, for only then can I vanquish her.

As Egwene endeavors to re-enter the dreamworld, Moirane and Rand engage in conversation. Curious, Rand queries Moirane about her experiences in Rhuidean and expresses concern about losing his sanity. Moiraine replies cryptically, “Occasionally.” When he brings up the possibility of killing Egwene and herself, she repeats, “Occasionally.” Clearly unsettled by her visions and the influence of the sa’angreal, she admits that each time she succumbs to its power, she struggles to maintain control. Rand advises her to resist submission and focus on something else. Simultaneously, he demonstrates his own power, causing Moirane to snap him out of his reverie to halt his trembling.

Moghedien takes control, while the Forsaken attacks Rand al’Thor

At Tachinco, the team at last obtained one of the bracelets they had been seeking. Nynaeve grasped this particular bracelet and kept it on her person. She and Elayne were present when Moghedien unleashed her powers, commandeering their thoughts. She inquired from them about their reasons for being there and their objectives. Upon asking what they and the Black Ajahs were pursuing, the pair informed Moghedien that they were hunting down a ‘Seanchan’ collar—one previously worn by a male, not female. They also shared details about the Dragon Reborn with her, even his name. When Moghedian inquired about his location, they stated that they didn’t know where he was, but would inform them once they had that information. Surprisingly, they told her that they had obtained the second bracelet and presented it to her. As Nynaeve handed over the bracelet, she exhibited resistance, yet was unable to act against it. Moghedien promised to return for further information. Immediately upon her departure from their room, the influence of her magic dissipated from their minds, and they realized that the bracelet had vanished.

In summary, after a prolonged silence, Egwene and Rand al’Thor engage in a significant conversation where Egwene accuses Rand of having feelings for Lanfear. She expresses what she has witnessed and questions the truth of his relationships. Egwene queries whether he loves Lanfear, but finds no answer, inferring that he does indeed care for her. In response, Rand denies any affection towards Egwene and brings up the topic of traveling to the dreamworld. However, Egwene reveals that she was tormented by Lanfear in her dreams, to which Rand claims ignorance.

Their discussion is interrupted when they are attacked by Sammael, a Forsaken, along with his men. The assault seems dire as Sammael prepares to strike a fatal blow against Rand. Aviendha intervenes at the last moment and saves them both. In the ensuing chaos, Rand unleashes his powers to vanquish Sammael, but unfortunately, the structure they were in collapses, leading to the death of a little girl they had been conversing with earlier. Desperate, Rand attempts to revive her through his abilities, yet fails, leaving him devastated.

The War is Coming to the Two Rivers?

Perrin and Alanna are severely hurt, and Perrin requires healing, yet Alanna is injured as well, unable to tend to him. Fortunately, two young girls who were previously saved by Perrin arrive and offer assistance. Alanna then calls upon these girls to use their healing abilities on her, explaining to Maksim that she’s long known the mountains harbor channelers. In a separate turn of events, viewers are introduced to Padan Fain for the first time this season, who decides to join the White Cloaks and promises them aid in their conflict against the people of Two Rivers. The episode concludes with an approaching army, signaling that it’s now time for the inhabitants of Two Rivers to prepare for battle.
