The dynamic crime simulation game, titled Schedule 1, recently unveiled a fresh update. This update introduces an “alternative take” on the game alongside numerous bug fixes and enhancements. Since its early access launch on March 24, 2025, the game has rapidly gained traction and captivated hundreds of thousands of players on Steam.

Originating from an autonomous game studio called TVGS, Schedule 1 has recently emerged as a popular indie game on Steam, amassing over 414,000 simultaneous players within a week of its debut. Remarkably, even though it’s still in its early access phase, the game has earned widespread acclaim from users and boasts “Overwhelmingly Positive” user reviews based on feedback from more than 54,000 gamers. Encouragingly, it appears that the Australian studio isn’t content with their success as they have already dispatched six minor updates for the game post-launch. Notably, the latest update tackles several significant technical issues reported by players.

In a recent update following its release, the game associated with illegal drug dealing, categorized as Schedule 1, has received its sixth post-launch fix along with its alternative version. This specific edition of the first-person game has been specifically designed to address the recurring crashes some players have encountered. The developers at TVGS have disclosed that they’ve switched the scripting backend from IL2CPP to Mono in this alternative version, acknowledging that while it may not be as efficient, it is more effective for those experiencing issues and crashes with the original game. Furthermore, a new feature called “cleartrash command” has been introduced, which can help players overcome sluggishness caused by an excess of unnecessary items.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled about the recent update that’s addressed a host of issues I’ve encountered in-game. For instance, it finally lets me knock on that particular tall building’s door and prevents me from picking up items while skating with certain skateboards from Schedule 1. The new patch also tackles technical glitches like the player speed multiplier and colliders behind the Slop Shop.

Moreover, it’s fixed the bug that allowed employees to work at other properties and the strange behavior of NPCs not returning to their posts after attacking me. On top of that, the game now allows Chemists to manage an extra station, increasing the maximum count from three to four. I can’t wait to see what else this update brings!

Among the numerous improvements, a significant aspect of the recent update is an altered version of Schedule 1, tailored for a particular group of gamers. Over time, it will be intriguing to observe if this method proves effective and manages to decrease the frequency of crashes experienced by players on Steam.

Schedule 1 Version 0.3.3f15 Patch Notes

Alternate version

In this variant, the functionality remains the same as the standard one, but instead of using IL2CPP, it employs Mono for its scripting engine. Although the Mono backend isn’t as efficient performance-wise as the default, it tends to manage errors more effectively and is less likely to crash. If you’ve been encountering frequent crashes with the regular version, give this one a try. To activate this variant, simply follow the same steps for switching to beta mode – instructions can be found in this video tutorial.

If the alternative variant proves to have less instances of malfunctions, I will persist in managing and regularly upgrading this particular version, ensuring its compatibility with the standard version. At a minimum, even if the alternative version doesn’t resolve the malfunctions, it will provide me with more detailed bug reports compared to the default version.
