Roronoa Zoro vs. Rob Lucci: Who Will Triumph on Egghead Island?

This post contains spoilers for One Piece.

Summary

  • Zoro will fight Rob Lucci on Egghead Island to uphold Straw Hat honor.
  • Zoro must rely on Haki abilities in battle against Lucci to stand a chance.
  • Despite Lucci’s edge in physical abilities, Zoro’s Haki skills could tip the scale.

Roronoa Zoro is a part of the Straw Hat Pirates, forming one-third of their renowned trio known as the Monster Trio. He became an ally after Luffy saved him from imminent demise in Shells Town. Just like every member of the Straw Hats, Zoro harbors individual aspirations that he aims to accomplish.

In the world of “One Piece”, Zoro aspires to be the most formidable swordsman, a goal he intends to realize by constantly improving his strength and vanquishing those who dare oppose him. In each story arc, Zoro encounters a fresh adversary that pushes his limits, and the Egghead arc was no exception. Despite defeating Kaku previously, Zoro is yet to confront another test.

Why Zoro Will Fight Rob Lucci On Egghead Island

The Swordsman Must Protect His Friends

Previously, it was mentioned that Zoro defeated Kaku on Egghead Island. This might lead one to ponder why the Straw Hat crew will encounter another formidable opponent next. The straightforward response is that matters are only going to escalate. Kizaru and Saint Jaygarcia Saturn were en route to Egghead before CP0 even arrived on the island. This is because Saturn oversees science and defense, making it his duty to address Dr. Vegapunk’s treachery. Being one of the Five Elders, Saturn never travels alone, hence Kizaru accompanies him.

In the latest sneak peek for the Egghead storyline, it’s shown that Kizaru makes an appearance on the island and challenges Luffy to give up. Additionally, a brief scene suggests Luffy attacking Kizaru. This implies that Kizaru will be Luffy’s primary adversary, and he’ll have quite a battle on his hands against the Admiral. Consequently, it seems like the other Straw Hats will need to tackle different perils.

In the trailer, it appears that Roronoa Zoro is preparing for a confrontation with Rob Lucci. This suggests that these two characters, who haven’t had a significant fight up until now, will clash in the next season of One Piece.

Is Zoro Stronger Than Lucci?

  • Lucci has a Devil Fruit, and he can use Haki, and Rokushiki
  • Zoro is an expert swordsman who can use all three types of Haki

As Zoro prepares to battle Lucci, the question on everyone’s lips is whether this pirate possesses the power and skills needed to emerge victorious. To gain insights into Zoro’s prowess, it would be wise to examine his present capabilities closely.

To triumph in his battle, Zoro primarily depends on Haki. Being devoid of a Devil Fruit, he must utilize Haki to amplify his offensive power. Currently, Zoro can tap into all three forms of Haki. He’s demonstrated Armament and Observation Haki on multiple occasions post the timeskip, but it was only during Wano that he employed Conqueror’s Haki for the first time. Yet, he is yet to master complete control over Conqueror’s Haki.

Currently, I find myself observing Zoro who, at this juncture, relies heavily on Enma to coax Haki from within him. Without his blade, he is unable to wield Conqueror’s Haki. Given the immense power of attacks fueled by Conqueror’s Haki, it’s not hard to imagine that if Zoro successfully delivers a well-aimed blow on Lucci, it could spell doom for him. However, it’s safe to assume that the CP0 agent won’t make it easy for Zoro to land such a strike.

Lucchi possesses a Devil Fruit known as an Awakened Zoan-type, granting him extraordinary power and speed. Additionally, he utilizes Rokushiki techniques, amplifying these abilities even more. In comparison, while Zoro’s physical prowess is notable, it pales in comparison to Lucci’s. Consequently, Zoro must exercise caution and conserve his energy.

Lucci Is Stronger Of The Two

According to available data, Zoro appears to have a superior Haki skillset, but Lucci excels in physical prowess and possesses an Awakened Devil Fruit. Given these factors, it seems that Lucci has the upper hand in this hypothetical fight. However, it’s worth noting that Lucci has faced significant damage, while Zoro remains relatively untested. This could be a crucial factor in determining the outcome. While Lucci is favored to win, there’s a strong possibility that Zoro might come out on top, as this would align with the story’s progression. However, if the fight’s result didn’t influence the plot, Lucci would probably emerge victorious.
