Summary
- DJ Salvatore Ganacci joins Fatal Fury: City of Wolves’ roster, shocking fans and is considered a bizarre choice.
- Ganacci is known for frequenting Saudi Arabian music festivals, his viral performances at Tomorrowland, and his songs Take Me To America and Step-Grandma.
- Fatal Fury fans noted Ganacci’s inclusion as one of the worst, as several social media users didn’t even know who the DJ was.
The forthcoming fighting game “Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves” has introduced an unexpected character, leaving the fanbase puzzled. In contrast to its predecessor “Garou: Mark of the Wolves,” which showcased a lineup of entirely new characters, “City of the Wolves” will bring back several characters from the “Fatal Fury” series and its related series “Art of Fighting.
Originating from SNK, “City of the Wolves” marks the first installment in the series since a gap of 26 years, following the launch of “Mark of the Wolves” in 1999. An open beta for “Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves” was made available to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox users back in February 2025, offering combat across eight characters and four stages. The official game launch is scheduled for April 24, 2025, on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox Series consoles.
According to SNK’s announcement on social media, Salvatore Ganacci, a well-known DJ who often performs at Saudi Arabian music festivals and is famous for his viral performances at Tomorrowland and hits like “Take Me To America” and “Step-Grandma”, has been added to the game lineup. This unexpected choice has caused quite a stir, earning Ganacci a spot on the list of the most unusual guest characters in fighting games. Notably, Ganacci is scheduled to perform at this year’s 1001 Festival in Riyadh on the same day as the launch of City of Wolves.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Welcomes DJ Salvatore Ganacci to the Roster
Fans of the Fatal Fury series criticized the inclusion of DJ Ganacci as one of their least favorites, since many social media users were unfamiliar with him and some gamers even apologized for their previous complaints about Terry Bogard’s confirmation. One Reddit user went a step further to apologize for complaining about guest characters in Street Fighter 6 and Final Fantasy 16’s Clive Rosfield joining Tekken 8, and asked for Ganacci’s addition to make sense. Unlike the announcement of Salvatore, the confirmation that soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo would join the roster in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves was met with a much more positive response.
Based on leaks from a data miner working on the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves game, it appears that additional characters could be joining the game’s roster beyond those already confirmed. Names such as Kim Jae Hoon, Freeman, Hokutomaru, Abel “Grant” Cameron, Blue Mary, Rick Strowd, Alfred, Ryo Sakazaki, Duck King, and Wolfgang Krauser were mentioned in the leak. If this information is accurate, these characters could be considered base characters or potential DLC additions to the game.
