Game Rant is ready to unveil a special sneak peek at the chilling summer camp horror flick titled Marshmallow, directed by Daniel DelPurgatorio. The film will hit the big screen in just a few days from now, specifically on April 11th.

Daniel DelPurgatorio, an American director, VFX artist, and writer, is known for his work in visual effects. His latest project on a completed movie was the 2023 horror thriller “Black Mold,” where he served as Visual Effects Supervisor. Upcoming, Daniel will make his feature film directorial debut with the project titled “Marshmallow.

Prior to the premiere of the movie “Marshmallow”, Hemlock Circle Productions has unveiled a fresh snippet from the upcoming film, which Game Rant is privileged to present firsthand. The 44-second clip features a brief altercation between one of the characters in the film and Morgan, a shy 12-year-old portrayed by Kue Lawrence. Lawrence gained recognition for his role as John “Jody” DeFeo in the 2018 film “The Amityville Murders”, and also lent his voice to young Dante in Netflix’s “Devil May Cry” series.

Marshmallow Is a Film About a Scary Campfire Tale That Comes to Life

The film is set to deliver a chilling horror narrative, unfolding at a remote summer camp. Here, the protagonist, Morgan, finds herself in a living nightmare when a terrifying campfire story becomes reality. Throughout the movie, Morgan forms alliances with newly discovered companions as they struggle to endure encounters with an elusive menace that has taken up stalking their campground. As events unfold, the children are led on a perilous journey where they’ll have to confront their darkest fears and grapple with profound philosophical questions, as suggested by the official synopsis of Marshmallow.

Apart from Lawrence, the television series titled “Marshmallow” features Giorgia Whigham, recognized for her roles in Netflix’s “The Punisher” and Peacock’s comedy series “Ted”. Actor Alysia Reiner, known for her work on “Orange Is the New Black”, is also part of this cast. Joining them are Kai Cech (from “Dear Santa”), Pierson Fode (“The Man from Toronto”, “72 Hours”), and Corbin Bernsen (“L.A. Law”, “The Dentist”, “Psych”).

“Marshmallow” is based on a script by Andy Greskoviak, an L.A.-based writer who has worked on the 2021 zombie horror comedy “Black Friday”. The production company Hemlock Circle Productions, co-founded by Warner Davis and Todd M. Friedman, are credited as producers.

Marshmallow Coming to Theaters This Week

In June 2023, the summer horror flick was filmed at Camp Ksyoc Kentucky Park. Originally debuted at the 2025 Panic Fest, a spooky, science-fiction, horror film festival that took place from late March to early April, Marshmallow is set to hit limited U.S. theaters this Friday, April 11. The movie runs for approximately 93 minutes. Although it appears as if it could be rated PG-13, the final content rating for Marshmallow remains undecided.
