2024 saw the unexpected blockbuster success of Palworld, with sales exceeding seven million copies in just five days. To build upon this triumph, developer Pocketpair has continued to support the game through regular updates, including the recent Feybreak patch that introduced a large new island to the map. Not long ago, Pocketpair disclosed that more than 32 million players have enjoyed Palworld, aggregating sales across platforms like Steam and services such as Xbox Game Pass.

2025 saw one of Palworld‘s smallest updates, Update 0.5.3, primarily dedicated to resolving three significant issues. This update rectifies a memory leak on dedicated servers and an autosave bug specifically for the PlayStation 5 version of the game. However, Pocketpair has alerted PS5 players that there’s still a possibility that the autosave bug may recur in specific scenarios, so they should notify the developer if this persists. The third major bug addressed involves a glitch that reverted server save data under certain conditions. Besides these critical problems, the patch also mended other unspecified minor bugs, likely enhancing the game’s overall smoothness and quality.

Essentially, the latest release is significantly smaller than the 0.5.0 update that rolled out in late March. The latter introduced crossplay functionality into Palworld, along with a new and expansive storage system for Pals.

Given the ongoing legal disputes between Nintendo and Pocketpair over patent infringement claims, it remains uncertain whether Palworld will ultimately be playable on the Switch 2 in the future.
