Mind-Blowing Change: One Piece’s Loki Gets a Stunning New Look!

This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf arc.

Summary

  • Oda changed Loki’s color scheme from pink to dark purple on a recent cover.
  • The change in color on the magazine cover may not reflect a permanent redesign.
  • Fans should still consider the original volume cover colors as official for Loki.

In this ongoing storyline of “One Piece,” Loki makes a compelling debut during the Elbaf arc.

Previously, there were hints about him as early as Whole Cake Island, but it wasn’t until late last year that fans got a proper glimpse of him. Lately, his color scheme has sparked a lot of discussion within the fandom, and it seems like Oda has made some changes to it in a recent cover.

Oda’s Newest Cover for The Magazine Makes a Huge Change to Loki’s Design

Loki’s Color Scheme Has Been Changed

The Elbaf storyline has been captivating readers, and it’s only just beginning to heat up as the Holy Knights take action. This Elbaf saga has introduced a host of intriguing characters, not just the Holy Knights, but also newcomers like Loki, the Cursed Prince of Elbaf. For most of Elbaf, Loki was shackled, but in recent manga chapters, he’s broken free and displayed a hint of his abilities.

Delving into the subject at hand, let me express my excitement over Loki’s captivating portrayal thus far! However, it’s worth mentioning that his unique appearance has sparked quite a debate within the fandom. The source of contention? None other than Loki’s striking color scheme, unveiled on the cover of One Piece Volume 111 by the illustrious Oda himself.

Many devoted fans had envisioned Loki with golden or fiery red tresses, but they were in for a surprise! Instead, Oda decided to bring a burst of pink into the storyline as Loki’s hair color and drape him in a regal purple cape. This bold choice certainly added another layer of intrigue to our beloved trickster god!

It’s not surprising that many fans expressed their displeasure due to the unconventional color choice, but this isn’t out of the ordinary for the world of One Piece, as characters like Koby and Who’s Who, with their pink hair, have shown.

More recently, Oda created a cover for the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, and on this cover, Loki appears to have altered his color palette. Specifically, instead of having pink hair, Loki now sports dark purple tresses.

This is definitely a major change from the color scheme on the volume cover.

Is Loki’s Hair Now Officially Purple?

The Change Isn’t Necessarily Accurate

Previously noted, Oda opted for a distinct shade for Loki’s hair in the latest Weekly Shonen Jump magazine cover; however, this change does not automatically establish Loki’s hair as officially purple moving forward.

The current color scheme of the volume cover for the magazine is more preferred over a random one, which means that unless the volume cover is altered, it’s improbable that Loki’s color palette will be adjusted. Similarly, it’s expected that the anime will adhere to the same color scheme as the volume cover. For now, fans should view this cover with a bit of skepticism, but there’s always a possibility that Oda might decide to alter his plans later on.

Where To Read One Piece?

Right now, the Elbaf storyline in “One Piece” is incredibly thrilling! Typically, new episodes come out every Sunday, unless creator Eiichiro Oda needs a break, which happens about once every three weeks. However, this weekend, there’s no new episode because it’s a break week for “One Piece”. You can read both previously published chapters and the upcoming releases of the manga on Manga Plus and Viz Media. The next chapter, number 1146, is scheduled to release on Sunday, April 20th, 2025.
