If you aren’t fond of living ships or if you’re passionate about acquiring various starships within No Man’s Sky, there’s another kind of spacecraft to expand your collection: Sentinel Interceptors. These vessels resemble the Sentinels you engage in open combat, but they are available in diverse versions and hues.

In the universe of No Man’s Sky, there are two paths to obtaining a Sentinel ship:

1. The first approach involves discovering a Harmonic settlement with the help of an Echo Locator.
2. Alternatively, you can conquer the formidable Sentinel Capital Ship.

Bear in mind that both methods could require patience, but here’s some helpful information on how to secure a Sentinel Interceptor in No Man’s Sky.

How to Get a Sentinel Interceptor Using an Echo Locator in No Man’s Sky

Find a Dissonant Planet

The Sentinel Interceptors look like ordinary wrecked spaceships, but you’ll only find them on systems classified as Dissonant. To get there, open your Galaxy Map, search for a system labeled ‘Dissonant’ instead of ‘Water’, and then jump to it using warp drive. Keep in mind that each system has just one planet with Dissonance. Use your ship’s scanner to find a planet displaying a purple “Dissonance detected” label on its description.

Acquire an Echo Locator

To locate a wrecked Sentinel Interceptor on a turbulent planet, seek out a Harmonic village with the aid of a Sonar Detector. Sonar Detectors can be found near Dissonance Amplifiers scattered around the disturbed planet. These devices resemble towering drilling machines and are always guarded by a squad of Corrupted Sentinels. You may defeat the Dissonance Amplifier to obtain a Sonar Detector or an Opposite Reflector, but beware of the challenge it presents.

Reach the Harmonic Echo

Locate the Echo Locator within your inventory to identify the position of the Harmonious Settlement, a place brimming with tasks for you to accomplish and sights to see. The area is rich with Harmonious Scrap that could yield Atlantideum, Nanites, Exosuit Upgrades, and other valuable resources. Towards the rear of the settlement, you’ll find the Harmonious Interface.

Each Harmonic Interface has a puzzle. Here’s how to solve it:

  1. Select “Scan memory registers” to see three simple math problems.
  2. Calculate every number and write down the answers.
  3. Select “Input override glyphs” and enter all three answers in any order.

Once you’ve figured out the puzzle, you can disable the Multi-Tool lock and find the Dissonance Spikes. Disabling the Multi-Tool lock grants you access to examine and collect the Sentinel Multi-Tool from a station situated to the left of the Harmonic Interface. In other words, finding the Dissonance Spikes signals the position of the closest downed Sentinel Interceptor.

You can pick either the Multi-Tool or a ship first, then revisit the Harmonic Interface to make your second choice. In simpler terms, you don’t have to stick with just one item; you can always change your mind afterwards!

Fix the Sentinel Interceptor

Head to the location marked as the Dissonance Spike and engage with the Sentinel Interceptor there. Gather all the loot, which includes the Hyaline Brain, into your inventory. During this process, you’ll acquire a mission related to that specific spaceship within your Log.

Locate the Hyaline Brain in your items and choose Probe Subconscious as your action. Climb aboard your spaceship then and follow the guiding beacon towards the Ancient Location. You can either use the quest’s coordinates or rely on the marker if that suits you better. Engage with the Monolith upon arrival to purify the Hyaline Brain, resulting in the Harmonic Brain.

In case some Monoliths malfunction and display incorrect dialogues, preventing further interaction for mission advancement, it is advisable to create a save prior to engaging with them or search for another downed spaceship as an alternative.

Return the Harmonic Brain to the Sentinel Interceptor for repairs on the Pilot Interface. Afterward, feel free to explore the starship and include it in your personal inventory.

How to Get a Sentinel Interceptor Using a Sentinel Capital Ship in No Man’s Sky

An alternative method of locating a Sentinel Interceptor involves defeating the Sentinel Mothership first. Begin by engaging a civilian fleet to provoke the Sentinels, then evade the fleet and battle all Interceptors until you reach wave number five.

Before confronting the freighter, make sure to dispose of all remaining Interceptors first. Much like the pirate Dreadnought, the Sentinel Capital Ship boasts shield generators (round, brown structures) on either side, along with numerous turrets. Focus your efforts on destroying the turrets and then the shield generators. Regrettably, the Sentinel Capital Ship doesn’t have any other vulnerable points, so brace yourself, take a deep breath, and keep firing until the ship is obliterated.

Obtaining victory over the Sentinel Capital Ship yields a Carrier AI Fragment. This item functions much like an Echo Locator, but instead of guiding you, it directly points towards a wrecked Interceptor (if in another system, it’ll show you where it is on the Galaxy Map). Once you reach the crash site, you can proceed with the standard repair process to get the ship operational.
