The most recent update for PlayStation Plus offers players with subscriptions to the Extra and Premium tiers an early chance to play one of 2025’s top-rated new games, titled Blue Prince. Normally, PlayStation Plus updates occur on Tuesdays. However, due to Blue Prince being a PlayStation Plus Extra game that happened to release on a Thursday instead, an exception has been made.
As a devoted gaming enthusiast, I’m super excited about the latest additions to my PlayStation Plus experience! The Extra tier offers me access to an ever-changing roster of PS4 and PS5 titles, while the Premium tier takes it up a notch with classic games from legacy consoles. Now, as a subscriber to either the Extra or Premium tiers, I’ve got two fresh games to dive into before the regular Tuesday update on April 15th. Can’t wait to see what else is in store!
Subscribers to PS Plus Extra and Premium can now access the highly-praised puzzle game, “Blue Prince,” as part of their subscription. Known for its exceptional quality, “Blue Prince” has been lauded by critics as one of the best puzzle games ever created, currently boasting a 90 overall rating on OpenCritic – making it one of the highest-rated new releases of the year. At present, it shares the top spot with “Split Fiction,” another critically acclaimed game from Hazelight Studios.
New PS Plus Extra Games Added Today
- Blue Prince
- EA Sports PGA Tour
Besides the newly released game Blue Prince, which is available now for PS Plus Extra and Premium members, another exciting title, EA Sports PGA Tour, has also been added to the Extra tier. While Blue Prince was initially slated for an April 10 release, EA Sports PGA Tour wasn’t expected until April 15. However, with these two games now available, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers have a head start on their gaming sessions as they eagerly anticipate more additions scheduled for April 15.
On the 15th of April next Tuesday, PS Plus Extra members can look forward to playing games like “Battlefield 1”, “Hogwarts Legacy”, “Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 2”, and “PlateUp”. Subscribers at a higher tier will have the chance to explore the PS1 horror game “Alone in the Dark 2” and the classic PS2 action game “War of the Monsters”. In 2023, “Hogwarts Legacy” was the year’s top-selling title, while “Battlefield 1” is one of the more well-received recent installments in the Battlefield series. “Lost Records” is a new release and “PlateUp” offers enjoyable co-op chaos, making this month an exciting one for PlayStation Plus members overall.
Absolutely, those with Extra and Premium subscriptions can snag the free PlayStation Plus games that are available in the Essential level as well. For April 2025, the lineup includes “RoboCop: Rogue City”, “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre”, and “Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory”.
