This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf arc.
Summary
- Elbaf will bring Luffy closer to the final island.
- Scopper Gaban might give the location of the last Road Poneglyph.
- The next island after Elbaf could involve a battle with Shanks at Lodestar Island.
Currently, the Elbaf storyline in “One Piece” is incredibly thrilling, and fans are well aware that author Oda has only barely begun exploring this arc. The events unfolding in Elbaf promise to be monumental, potentially lasting for years before “One Piece” reaches its final stages, leading Luffy on one of his concluding adventures.
At present, Elbaf is facing a significant danger from the Holy Knights, and it’s only a matter of when they fully reveal their power. Moreover, larger adversaries could emerge during the Elbaf arc due to the Abyss of the World Government. However, ultimately, Elbaf will overcome these threats. Once that occurs, viewers will shift their attention to the next destination the crew plans to visit, and creator Oda has two major prospects for this location.
Why The Search For The Last Road Poneglyph Is Next After Elbaf
- Elbaf Will Take Luffy Closer To The Final Island
- Scopper Gaban Will Give The Location Of The Last Road Poneglyph
Fans are well aware that Luffy is almost touching the legendary treasure, One Piece, because ever since he embarked on his journey, he has been advancing at an unmatched pace. The Minks helped him obtain his first Road Poneglyph from Zou. Following this, Luffy raided Whole Cake Island and took Big Mom’s Poneglyph. In the battle against Kaido, Luffy got another Poneglyph, and now he can reach three of the four mysterious red stones. Soon, he will get hold of the last stone, and then he’ll be ready to set sail for Laugh Tale.
To set foot on the last island, Laugh Tale, you must first gather all four Road Poneglyphs!
The primary concern revolves around the final Road Poneglyph’s location. It remains unknown where it is or who currently possesses it. There’s widespread speculation that the Man with the Burn Scar might be in possession of this last Poneglyph, and there’s a possibility that he could be Scopper Gaban, considering his burn scar. Thus, one might wonder if Gaban would hand over the last Road Poneglyph to Luffy after their battle on Elbaf concludes? After all, Gaban had invited Luffy to meet him once their conflict on Elbaf has ended.
Luffy won’t receive the final Road Poneglyph directly from Gaban. Instead, he might guide Luffy towards it. This implies that there’s a single place left for the Straw Hat Pirates to go before reaching the Final Island, as the last Road Poneglyph is not in Gaban’s possession anymore.
The Two Major Possibilities After Elbaf
Following the conclusion of the Elbaf Arc in One Piece, it’s probable that Gaban will reveal to Luffy the whereabouts of the final Road Poneglyph; however, securing it won’t be a simple task.
The Battle Against Shanks At Lodestar Island
The final Road Poneglyph will call for Luffy to confront Shanks, a disciple of Whitebeard (Roger’s successor). The location of this last Road Poneglyph is Lodestar Island, the farthest island on the Grand Line. This isn’t the island containing the One Piece, but it holds information about the Poneglyphs and their true objectives. Shanks, who is guarding Roger’s legacy, has been suggested to be Luffy’s ultimate trial before he embarks on his quest for the One Piece.

The Rescue Of Garp And The Blackbeard Battle

It seems that Luffy and his Straw Hat crew may need to take an alternate route before reaching Lodestar Island due to a potential complication: the public execution of Monkey D. Garp, which appears imminent given current events. Crocodile, who plans to negotiate with the government about this matter, is likely to fail in his efforts. As a result, it’s expected that he will carry out Garp’s execution, leading to a conflict with the Navy and potentially even the Straw Hat Pirates. In an attempt to save his grandfather, Luffy might choose to visit Pirate Island first.
With their departure from Elbaf, the Straw Hat Pirates are left with just two potential destinations. One option involves facing off against Garp on the Pirate Island in what could be a fierce conflict. Alternatively, they might find themselves engaged in a battle at Lodestar Island against Shanks, all in pursuit of the final Road Poneglyph.
