Throughout the Manor and the environs of Mt. Holly, there are numerous safes that players can discover and open. One of these safes is hidden away in the Bomb Shelter – a unique room that can be accessed through a clandestine outdoor spot.

In the game of Blue Prince, players need to first learn how to place a Shelter in this outdoor setting, followed by determining the present day and hour. This guide will show you where the Time-Lock Safe is situated, provide helpful hints for discovering the current time and date, and illustrate the process of opening the Time-Lock Safe within Blue Prince.

Step One: Unlock The West Gate To Access The Outer Room

The West Gate is situated, as its title suggests, to the west of the Estate, on your right-hand side when you exit the Entrance and step outside. To open this gate, you need to activate the Garage Door located within the Garage using a Breaker Box. This Garage can be found on the estate’s far left, also known as the Western Perimeter.

Activate the garage, unroll the garage door, after that, make your way along the path towards the southern exit. This will lead you outside to the western side of the West Gate. Once there, interact with the gate lock to secure long-term access to the West Path, which eventually opens up to a concealed Outer Room.

Step Two: Draft The Shelter

In this specific area beyond the West Gate lies one of only a few exceptional Outer Rooms that can be constructed. To build the Shelter, follow the appropriate steps and then descend the stairs. Upon reaching the bottom, you’ll find the Time Lock Safe resting on a shelf near a Terminal. Fortunately, you won’t need to log into the Terminal in order to operate the controls for the Time-Lock Safe.

If you don’t secure the Shelter, you can always start anew by exiting the game. Go back to the Exterior Room for another opportunity to pick the Shelter from the pool of Exterior Rooms.

Step Three: Enter A Time One Hour From The Current Time & Date

As an enthusiastic Blue Prince player, to unlock the Time-Lock Safe, I need to navigate to its dedicated menu and input a time that is at least an hour ahead of the present moment.

To accomplish this task, you’ll need to determine the present day and hour as there isn’t an option for it within the main menu or in-game calendar.

  • To find out the date, you must read a note on the Security Terminal that reveals the day the expedition started – November 7 – then add your current Day count. Subtract one from your total to account for November 7 being Day 1, and you will have your current date. November has 30 days, so if you are on more than 28 Days, the month will change to December.
  • To find out the current time, you can either look at the clock tower from the outside of the Estate, or reference clocks inside the Estate rooms (like the Den). Read the clock hands to determine the current time – each day begins at 8:00 a.m.

As a gamer, when I’m trying to set the Time-Lock Safe, I need to remember that I can only adjust it in one-hour increments. This means if the current time is even slightly past the hour, I’ll have to round up and add an entire hour before setting the safe to open at the exact time I want.

Step Four: Wait Until The Set Time To Open The Time-Lock Safe

Lastly, you have two options: Stay put at the Safe House until the vault unlocks, or venture out briefly to scout around the house and come back. Keep in mind that the game advances approximately every five minutes per hour.

For the next four hours, the safe will remain open. If you intend to come back later, remember to check the time using nearby clocks as you wander through the manor. Be mindful of your return trip to the Shelter to ensure that you arrive before the safe is closed.
