Epic Naruto Fights That Lasted Way Too Long – You Won’t Believe How Many Episodes!

Summary

  • Naruto features incredible, perfectly paced fights that vary in intensity, some becoming fan-favorites.
  • Filler episodes and arcs were common due to manga pacing, resulting in both long and worthwhile fight sequences.
  • Specific battles, like Pain vs. Naruto and Team 7 vs. Madara, stand out for their storytelling and impact.

From a die-hard anime fan here, let me tell you that Naruto, one of the original big three, thrives on epic battles and drawn-out storylines. It’s a shonen masterpiece that truly shines when the action unfolds. The longer and more intense the fights become, the more exhilarating they feel. Some of these battles are nothing short of legendary, meticulously crafted, and cherished by fans as the series’ finest moments. However, not all battles are held in such high regard.

In the anime from the 2000s and 2010s, many extra episodes were included to allow the manga more time to progress. As a result, it’s not surprising that some fight scenes are prolonged. Nevertheless, there are several battles in the anime that truly warrant the length of time they receive.

10. Zabuza & Haku Vs. Kakashi & Team 7

C-Rank Mission Turned A-Rank

  • Show: Naruto Shippuden
  • Season: 1
  • Episodes: 12-18 (6 episodes)

The initial significant storyline that drew viewers into the anime’s universe was the Wave Mission storyline. During this mission, Team 7 faced their first substantial challenge, which helped strengthen their bond. This tale added layers to both the world and the characters, and it introduced an exceptional antagonist in the form of Zabuza and his protégé, Haku.

In these episodes, there were two concurrent battles: one between Sasuke, Naruto, and Haku, and another between Kakashi and Zabuza. Although the first fight between Zabuza and Team 7 was brief, the subsequent battle on the bridge, which ultimately determined his destiny, lasted longer. While Kakashi’s fight took a back seat, allowing Sasuke and Naruto to take center stage, their friendship grew stronger during this time, eventually enduring through many trials.

9. Pain Vs. Naruto

A Battle for the Fate of the Leaf

  • Show: Naruto Shippuden
  • Season: 8
  • Episodes: 163-169 (7 episodes)

In my opinion, the epic showdown between Pain and Naruto was hands down the most thrilling encounter throughout the series! As the battle commenced, I couldn’t help but hold my breath as Naruto burst onto the scene with Sage mode activated, ready to take on the devastating villain who had left a trail of destruction in his wake. The village that once nurtured him was now in ruins, and it was up to Naruto to avenge the fallen and restore peace.

As the battle unfolds, it becomes increasingly apparent that Pain is overwhelming Naruto, reinforcing his divine-like image to the audience. When things appear hopeless and the Nine-Tails is on the brink of completely overtaking Naruto, the situation takes an unexpected turn. A remarkable event transpires, restoring balance to the world again.

8. Kabuto Vs. The Uchiha Siblings

Mangekyo Sharingans Against The Snake Sage

  • Show: Naruto Shippuden
  • Season: 15
  • Episodes: 333-339 (7 episodes)

The Fourth Shinobi War in Naruto was both a satisfying and frustrating arc. On one side, it was rewarding to witness underappreciated characters get their moment in the spotlight. However, from another perspective, it could be tedious for viewers as it appeared that the main plot was being sidelined with episodes that seemed more like filler content.

In some less crucial episodes, one particularly exciting fight stood out: the battle between Kabuto, once he attained Sage Mode, and the Uchiha siblings, Sasuke and the resurrected Itachi. The twin Mangekyo Sharingan wielders aren’t to be underestimated, but Kabuto’s abilities as a Senjutsu user were equally awe-inspiring.

7. Kakuzu & Hidan Vs. Team 10 & 7

Major Strike Against The Akatsuki

  • Show: Naruto Shippuden
  • Season: 4
  • Episodes: 83-89 (7 episodes)

In Naruto, vengeance isn’t promoted as a positive action. Sasuke’s fixation on it caused him to leave his village and friends, driving the central plotline of the series. Nonetheless, vengeance can be deeply gratifying, and the revenge that Team Asuna took for their sensei’s death by eliminating Hidan and Kakuzu, two powerful Akatsuki members often considered virtually immortal, was carried out effectively.

Witnessing yet again the brilliance of Shikamaru was a treat for spectators, as his cunning mind shone bright in the heat of battle. With the collective strength of Team 7 – myself included along with Naruto and Kakashi – we were able to vanquish one of Akatsuki’s formidable teams, showcasing our strategic prowess.

6. Sasuke Vs. Naruto (Valley of End)

The Reincarnations Fight

  • Show: Naruto
  • Season: 3
  • Episodes: 128-134 (7 episodes)

The first significant battle between Sasuke and Naruto took place towards the conclusion of the Sasuke Recovery mission. Emerging from a ninjutsu-induced slumber, transformed into a different individual, Sasuke had advanced his curse seal to a higher level. To persuade him to return to the village hidden in the leaves, Naruto gave it his all, even summoning the Kyuubi and harnessing its chakra, aiming to equal the power that the curse seal bestowed upon Sasuke.

The battle between Naruto and Sasuke lasted quite some time, filled with engaging flashbacks, impressive martial arts sequences, and a fitting ambiance throughout. Yet, as every great event does, it eventually drew to a close. In the end, Sasuke narrowly defeated Naruto, demonstrating a desire to distinguish himself from his brother by sparing him instead of dealing a fatal blow.

5. Madara vs. Five Kage

Overwhelming Superiority of the Patriarch

  • Show: Naruto Shippuden
  • Season: 15
  • Episodes: 323, 332, 333, 334, 339, 340, 344 (7 episodes)

Throughout Shippuden, the tale of Madara Uchiha looms large, causing immense excitement as his appearance becomes one of the most highly anticipated events in the series. The unveiling of Tobi as Madara, followed by the revelation that he was merely assuming the name, only served to heighten anticipation for this legendary character.

When he ultimately emerged onto the screen, it surpassed anything even the most optimistic fans had imagined. One method he demonstrated his superiority over the entire Shinobi realm was through his battle against the Kage. His Susanoo-enshrouded shadow clones effortlessly confronted all present leaders, vanquishing them with minimal effort.

4. Orochimaru Vs. Hiruzen

The Tug-of-War of Souls

  • Show: Naruto
  • Season: 2
  • Episodes: 68, 69, 71, 72, 73, 79, 80 (7 episodes)

One of the most cherished arcs in Naruto is the Chunin exams, as who doesn’t enjoy a thrilling tournament or two within shonen anime? The more rivals, the more it highlights the unique abilities of various characters. The climax of this storyline presents an unforgettable showdown between Orochimaru and Hiruzen – a traitor against the Leaf Village squaring off against his former mentor, the esteemed Third Hokage.

The battle lasts for an extended period and eventually incorporates the Impure World Reincarnation Technique, a crucial element in the grand finale of the series as it unfolds during the Fourth Shinobi World War.

3. Sasori Vs. Sakura & Chiyo

Team 7’s Weakest Link Shows Her Mettle

  • Show: Naruto Shippuden
  • Season: 1
  • Episodes: 19-27 (8 episodes)

In one of the initial clashes with Akatsuki members that viewers are introduced to, we see the battle between Sasori and Sakura, with Chiyo lending aid. This skirmish serves to demonstrate the combat prowess of the current Leaf ninja squad, and offers a chance for Sakura to show her abilities. Simultaneously, Kakashi engages in combat with Deidara, a battle that underscores Kakashi’s application of the Mangekyo Sharingan and the formidable might of his eye.

2. Kaguya Vs. Team 7

The Final Battle for the Fate of the World

  • Show: Naruto Shippuden
  • Season: 21
  • Episodes: 459-463. 470-474 (10 episodes)

In the second-to-last fight of the series, it’s worth noting that this one is particularly lengthy. To everyone’s surprise, Team 7, which includes Sakura, confronts Kaguya – the Otsutsuki who initiated the whole mess by consuming the fruit from the sacred tree.

Her battle against Team 7 stretches out over a significant period, interspersed with numerous episodes that add little to the storyline, seemingly for the purpose of extending the runtime. This can make the viewing experience quite tedious unless one chooses to bypass these extended filler segments.

1. Obito Vs. Shinobi Alliance 378-388

Everyone Versus the Ten Tails Jinchuuriki

  • Show: Naruto Shippuden
  • Season: 18
  • Episodes: 378-388 (11 episodes)

In the epic saga of Naruto, the longest battle takes place during the clash between the Shinobi Alliance and Obito when he transforms into his Ten Tails Jinchuuriki form. However, it’s not particularly action-packed compared to other battles like Madara’s fight, the intense confrontation against Kaguya, or the climactic battle between Naruto and Sasuke.

Yet, it doesn’t mean this battle isn’t just as captivating as the others. This fight showcases the full potential of a character who wields the power of the Sage of Six Paths and all the Tailed Beasts. It provides an impressive glimpse into what Naruto and his companions are facing, acting as a prelude for Madara’s and then Kaguya’s entry onto the scene.
