These games mirror real life by putting players in challenging situations where the right choice can be elusive, unrewarding, and potentially costly, just as it often is in our daily lives.

However, that battle-hardened adventurer might also be the strongest fighter in the group. Such dilemmas… such tricky choices!

11 Bit Studios reappears with yet another unforgiving title, this time offering the game titled Frostpunk. In essence, it is a city-building strategy that revolves around enduring an apocalypse. The world has been blanketed by eternal winter, and as the last hope for humanity, it falls upon the player to ensure New London, Earth’s final city, continues to thrive or else risk human extinction.
In times of extreme need, players might be drawn towards some controversial strategies; for instance, employing child labor or using deceased bodies for survival purposes could seem appealing under certain circumstances. However, these strategies are hardly ethical and should be used judiciously, if at all, based on how players develop their cities.

Prior to “Fear & Hunger” gaining widespread recognition, it was a little-known game with a devoted fanbase primarily in Russia. Judging by the trajectory of this list, it’s clear where things are headed. In essence, “Fear & Hunger” is a game that fosters hostility towards the player. To survive, the player must reciprocate this animosity.
The game’s standout feature is its random element, which often forces players into tough decisions with potentially dire consequences. This mechanic, combined with immersive simulation aspects within an RPG setting, drives players to the brink of desperation and offers them the means to commit questionable acts for a minor advantage in the game.
