In the Blue Prince, there are multiple spaces with unique purposes. One such space is the Boiler Room, which is among a small number of Mechanical Rooms. These special rooms have the ability to set off mechanisms and distribute power to other areas within the Blue Prince.
To begin, the Boiler Room functions offline at first, and you won’t be able to cross the metal catwalk until you manage to restart the boilers. To help solve the mystery of the Boiler Room for Blue Prince players, here is a simplified guide: This walkthrough offers insights into the role of the Boiler Room and provides a step-by-step process to restore power back to the Blue Prince’s Boiler Room, allowing you to access the other side of the metal catwalk.
What Is The Boiler Room For In Blue Prince?
The boiler room in the estate serves as an ESSENTIAL ENERGY CENTER, supplying steam energy to various spaces within the house. This energy is circulated throughout the building via ducts installed on the ceiling, allowing it to be transferred from one room to another over long distances, as long as there’s a chain of rooms equipped with these energy-carrying ducts.
If you successfully solve the Boiler Room mystery and activate the Boiler Room, the Blue Prince will grant you the privilege to transmit energy via the power vents that link up with any of the three doors depicted on the blueprint.
In some rooms, there are no power ducts, but if a room has them, look for the duct lines running across the ceiling, starting from each door frame and extending outwards.
To operate specific devices in a given room (like a Lab), you need to energize the Boiler first. Next, establish connections either by constructing ducts and linking them to the boiler or by building the room adjacent to it. Lastly, adjust the power flow so it’s directed towards that room.
Initially, power flows through the central entrance, but you can change this by switching located beneath the primary screen. This allows you to divert the power to either the right or left doorways instead.
How To Power The Boiler Room
Complete Boiler Room Puzzle Walkthrough
Step into the Boiler Room, and you’ll spot several features: a metallic catwalk stands nearby, leading to a closed, locked door. Additionally, an extension bridge and gate, usually powered, that connects to the isolated section of the room are currently deactivated and off-limits.
In the corner of the inaccessible metal walkway, you will see an unpowered elevator, too.
As a gamer immersed in the world of Blue Prince, here’s my take on how I’d guide others through activating the Boiler Room and solving its enigmatic puzzle:
“Alright, fellow adventurers! To get the Boiler Room up and running, we Blue Prince players gotta ignite all three boilers. A few of these fire starters are initially inaccessible, but fear not! Here’s a straightforward guide to help us crack this puzzle swiftly:
1. First things first, let’s find and activate the first boiler. It might be hidden or locked, so keep exploring and use any keys you’ve found along the way.
2. Once we’ve ignited the first one, we should notice that it opens up a path to the second boiler. Head towards that newly-opened route and get that baby burning as well!
3. Now, with boilers 1 and 2 lit, we can access the third boiler. This final step might require us to solve a mini-puzzle or overcome an obstacle, but with our keen gaming instincts, I’m confident we’ll conquer it in no time!
4. With all three boilers ablaze, the Boiler Room puzzle should be solved! Enjoy the rewards and keep exploring this fantastical world of Blue Prince!”

- 1. Turn the first boiler at the bottom of the stairs on

- 2. Rotate the red pipe once so it directs steam toward the six-pipe interchange mechanism in the middle of the room

- 3. Rotate the y-shaped pipe until you connect the first boiler to the back left pipe (facing away from the first boiler). This leads to the track and will power it.

- 4. Watch the moving track until there is a break in the metal sheets, then rotate the y-shaped pipe again to turn off the track. If timed right, the second boiler will become unblocked.

- 5. Turn on the second boiler, which releases steam into a pipe that leads around the corner to the first red pipe.

- 6. Look for a small blue redirector lever on the pipe that leads away from the second boiler. Turn this to the right to redirect the second boiler’s steam.
- 7. Rotate the red pipe so it lines up with the second boiler’s pipe, which should power up the elevator.
- 8. Take the elevator up and pull the lever on the other side of the blocked gate and closed walkway. The gate will open.

- 9. Turn on the third boiler on the metal walkway, then head back downstairs. With how your pipes are set up, this will also open the sealed doorway.

- 10. Rotate the red pipe once so it directs the first boiler’s steam instead of the second (vertically).

- 11. Rotate the y-shaped pipe three times, which should extend the metal path to the now-unlocked gate to the other half of the walkway. This will also direct the first boiler’s energy upward into the top mechanism.

- 12. Go back to the second boiler, and follow the pipe leading away from it until you find the blue knob switch again. Turn it to point up, which will direct the second boiler’s energy to the mechanism at the top.

- 13. Head up the stairs and across the walkway, then turn the blue knob next to the third boiler so it points left. This directs the third boiler’s energy to the top mechanism.
As a gamer, when I’ve got all three heaters linked up with the main computer, I’ll notice three circles popping up at the screen’s bottom-left corner – one for each connected heater. The next step is just a click on the “Activate” button to ignite the power source and solve that Boiler Room puzzle!
Players of Blue Prince can alter the flow of power in the Boiler Room by tugging on a lever situated beneath this monitor, either to the left or right. The screen up above in the room indicates which of the three doors leading into the Boiler Room is currently receiving power at the moment.
To activate a room, make sure it’s either linked by a duct or sharing a wall with the Boiler Room. Keep in mind that power flow occurs in one direction only each time.
