Among all the clans depicted in the anime and manga series Naruto, it’s the Senju clan that truly shines. During the Warring States Period, they held the most power. Even the exceptionally talented members from the Uchiha clan struggled to match the strength of the Senju.

For quite some time, the Senju clan has nurtured many exceptional ninja warriors, often leaving whole battlefields under their command. However, it’s important to note that there have been instances where this rule doesn’t apply, and Nawaki Senju is an example of such a case.

Nawaki Senju Is The Biggest Failure Of The Clan

Nawaki Senju, descendant of Hashirama Senju, the first Hidden Leaf’s Hokage, had Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage, as his granduncle. His elder sister, Tsunade, was part of the renowned trio known as the Legendary Sannin. Given his connections to prominent ninjas, he was anticipated to excel by many.

In addition to appearing self-assured about his talents, Nawaki boldly declared he would become the Hokage. Tragically, though, he never reached this aspiration as he perished due to a deadly explosive tag. It seems likely that Nawaki was unaware of enemy ninjas setting a trap for him. This sudden, gruesome loss deeply affected Tsunade emotionally, causing her to develop a profound dislike of blood. Given his ambitions and family background, it’s not an overstatement to call Nawaki the most disappointing member of the Senju clan.

The Senju Clan Is Filled With Legends

As previously stated, the Senju clan birthed many notable ninjas. Some of them include:

  • Tobirama Senju
  • Tsunade Senju

Among the three, it is Hashirama Senju who is best known. Right from his youth, Hashirama displayed exceptional potential, and he attracted the attention of his fellow clansmen. In battles against Uchiha adults, he proved victorious with relative ease. It’s hardly unexpected that Hashirama eventually became the chosen leader of the Senju clan during the Warring States Era.

Hashirama Senju boasted an enormous amount of chakra, enabling him to engage in battles for extended periods without fatigue. Furthermore, this vast chakra empowered him to perform colossal jutsu that other ninjas could not achieve. One of Hashirama’s greatest advantages was his Wood Release, a unique ability. With the Wood Release, Hashirama could subdue tailed beasts and render them harmless. Additionally, he could manipulate this skill to construct gigantic wooden structures that overshadowed even the largest susanoo. To top it all off, Hashirama was also proficient in using the Sage Mode, which amplified his power by tapping into natural energy. This made him a formidable adversary indeed.

At the peak of his powers, Hashirama proved himself a formidable opponent by defeating figures such as Madara, Kakuzu, and numerous others. His triumphs served as proof of his immense power and dominance over others.

Tobirama Helped Stabilize The Hidden Leaf

In a shift of leadership, Tobirama took over as the Hokage from his brother Hashirama in the Hidden Leaf village. Despite their familial bond, Tobirama harbored different views compared to his brother. Known for his cunning and ruthless nature, Tobirama was deeply committed to safeguarding the village. He didn’t hesitate to take extreme measures to ensure its security. Tobirama also demonstrated a knack for diplomacy, leading to considerable advancements in the Hidden Leaf during his reign.

In retrospect, I bear witness to the extraordinary skill of Tobirama, who stood shoulder-to-shoulder with legends like Hashirama and Madara in the realm of ninjutsu. His creations, still employed decades following his demise, are a testament to his genius. Moreover, it was Tobirama who conceived the Flying Thunder God – a formidable technique that left the Uchiha in a predicament.

Nawaki’s sibling, Tsunade Senju, is another remarkable member of the Senju lineage. Under the guidance of Hiruzen, who recognized her potential, Tsunade proved to be a worthy disciple. Her abilities, in turn, validated Hiruzen’s belief in her. Quickly earning recognition, Tsunade significantly advanced the realm of medical ninjutsu, transforming the role of a medic-nin. Had it not been for her innovations, many more ninjas worldwide would have endured greater wounds. Although she may not have possessed the physical power of Hashirama and Tobirama, her impact was equally substantial.
