La Llorona and The Ghost of Agnes Dowd

At night, you might stumble upon La Llorona near the marshes bordering Lemoyne. As you traverse the bayou, a mournful female voice may echo. If you manage to locate her and approach, she instantly turns aggressive, attacking with a knife. Navigating the bayou after dark is already unnerving, but an encounter with La Llorona can be downright terrifying if you’re not prepared for a sudden shock. The Ghost of Agnes Dowd in RDR2 is one of its most intriguing enigmas, yet she’s elusive indeed. She’s often spotted between 9PM and 3AM in Bluewater Marsh, but actually glimpsing her is significantly trickier than it sounds.

The Chelonians

  • If Arthur agrees to help Mary Linton, he comes across a turtle-loving suicide cult known as Chelonia.

Initially, you might find Turtle-like creatures, or Chelonians, without much effort because many players are willing to aid Mary. Yet, these creatures can reappear when you play as John Marston. If John ever finds himself back at that cliffside years later, he’ll witness the Chelonians leaping off the edge and has an option to jump along with them upon shouting “Chelonia!” This second encounter might be missed by some players, since they might not think of revisiting this exact location.

If Arthur shoots the Chelonian leader, the remaining cultists will jump off the cliff.

The Devil in the Cave

In Big Valley, a meandering path might guide explorers towards a hidden entrance carved into a rock known as Secret Passage. Venturing inside takes Arthur into a spacious cavern. Delving far enough, he’ll stumble upon the Recluse of the Caverns, who claims to be none other than the Devil himself. The path to Secret Passage is often overlooked, which makes the Recluse of the Caverns rare to encounter.

Finding a Hunter’s Lost Friend in Cairn Lake

In my exploration around Cairn Lake, I stumble upon a frantic hunter in search of his missing companion. Upon our agreement to aid him, we eventually locate his friend, but the news is heart-wrenching – his visage has been grotesquely torn away. As the hunter mourns, a colossal grizzly bear suddenly pounces, tearing him to shreds in a brutal attack. This chilling encounter serves as a stark reminder that even amidst the supernatural horrors haunting the countryside, nature remains the most fearsome beast of them all.
