Fans from Japan have unveiled upcoming cards that will be part of the expansion “The Glory of Team Rocket” in the Pokemon Trading Card Game (PTCG). The Pokemon universe features numerous memorable adversaries, and Team Rocket stands out as one of the most renowned. They are prominently featured not only in the anime but also within the PTCG.
Over the years, Team Rocket has been showcased in numerous card game expansions, with their self-named set being one of the most significant ones. This set was launched in English in 2000, boasting 83 cards and heralding the arrival of Dark Pokémon. High-value cards like Dark Charizard and Dark Alakazam were introduced as part of this release. Another notable expansion was EX Team Rocket Returns, which entered the market in 2004 with 111 English cards and 20 Pokémon ex. With another Pokemon Trading Card Game rollout on the horizon, fans can look forward to a sneak peek of what’s to come for Team Rocket.
Beach Poke has disclosed previews of the seldom-seen rare cards from The Team Rocket Glory expansion. As stated by them, Japanese enthusiasts have shared on social platforms the artwork for 34 out of the approximately 98 cards set to launch on April 18th. Out of this collection, 26 cards highlight Team Rocket members, showcasing various Pokemon like Moltres, Crobat, and Nidoking. Among these characters, Giovanni features in 10 cards, three with Mewtwo, one with Meowth, and another with Persian. In all, the list of leaked cards encompasses 14 ex cards and the Jamming Tower Stadium card. A noteworthy exclusion is the cards featuring Jessie and James, which may be due to their absence from the latest Pokemon anime series.

In the era of Scarlet and Violet, The Team Rocket Triumph is the tenth Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) expansion specifically designed for Japanese fans. Each booster box includes 30 packs, and all accessories accompanying this release will have a Team Rocket theme. This marks the second time an exclusive expansion has been released for Japanese enthusiasts; the first was Battle Partners, which introduced 132 new cards to collect. The Battle Partners cards eventually became available in the Western market through the Journey Together expansion. However, the cards from The Team Rocket Triumph will be unveiled as part of Destined Rivals instead.
Slated for launch on May 30th, Destined Rivals is an impending addition to the Pokemon Trading Card Game. Comprising more than 240 novel cards, this marks the tenth English collection within the Scarlet and Violet series. The expansion will not only spotlight Team Rocket but also offers 17 Pokemon ex, 23 rare images, and a further 11 special rare images.
