In Runescape: Dragonwilds, there are three traditional roles found in Role-Playing Games (RPG): the melee combatant, the spellcasting mage, and the long-range marksman, or archer. However, unlike many other games, your equipment determines your class here. If you’re aiming to be a ranger, for instance, you’ll naturally need a bow.
In games similar to survival-crafting genres, players can create a basic bow quite early in the game ‘Runescape: Dragonwilds’. But, it requires more than just using a crafting bench to acquire one. If you’re unsure about how to obtain a bow, here’s a simple guide on the process.
Crafting a Bow in Runescape: Dragonwilds
If you choose to proceed with the tutorial, you’ll eventually encounter a stage where you’ll have to hunt deer not long after constructing your base. Melee weapons won’t be effective in this case, so you’ll require a bow instead. To craft one, start by building a Spinning Wheel first. You can make the Spinning Wheel using these materials:
- 4 Flax
- 12 Ash Logs
- 2 Stone
In Bramblemead Valley and Temple Woods, Flax is abundant. You can identify it by its clusters of blue blossoms on the ground. Sometimes, you may even find it submerged in ponds, so remember to search there as well.
After collecting all necessary items, navigate to the Build menu and opt for the Spinning Wheel. Remember to set it up within a house structure (including walls and a roof) as it will not function elsewhere.
From the Spinning Wheel, create three rough Strands of Yarn. This action will reveal the blueprint for the Ash Bow. Head over to your Crafting Station and choose the Ash Bow option to craft one. Don’t forget to prepare three rough Strands of Yarn and 12 Ash Logs beforehand.
How to Craft Arrows
In this stage of the game, you have the option to craft either Stone or Fang Arrows. The Stone Arrows are easier to produce, but they won’t cause as much damage as the Fang Arrows. However, for early-game needs, particularly when you need basic ammunition, they work perfectly fine.
To make Stone Arrows, you’ll need the following:
- 1 Ash Log
- 1 Feather
- 1 Stone
If you’re interested in making Fang Arrows, simply replace Stones with Small Animal Fangs.
You can find Feathers from both chickens and bird nests. Chickens are quite common in Bramblemead Valley and Temple Woods, and occasionally you’ll even find some near the Wise Old Man’s broken tower. Unlike deer, chickens are less likely to flee when they spot you. Instead, they might attack you, making it easier to get arrows from them. On the other hand, bird nests can be obtained by chopping down trees once you reach a certain level in Woodcutting.
Regarding Small Animal Fangs: You can acquire them by defeating creatures with fangs, such as Giant Rats. They’re quite prevalent in the initial zones. For a more straightforward hunt, try tracking them down at night when their glowing eyes reveal their locations.
