Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Hardcore Mode Is Tougher Than Players Thought

Summary

  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Hardcore Mode ditches UI, makes combat tougher, and adds negative perks.
  • Players getting lost, negative perks, and simply dying from almost anything.
  • Not everyone is equipped to be Hardcore Henry.

If you found the early stages of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 challenging, then the Hardcore Mode might be too intense for you. This mode doesn’t just increase the difficulty, but it also removes the entire user interface. That means Henry must navigate medieval Bohemia without any guides or indicators. There are no maps, no combat markers, and a host of new disadvantages that will test your skills to the limit – you’ll definitely feel like you’re being pulled in all directions!

Now that the challenging Hardcore Mode has been introduced, gamers are eagerly returning to experience a more difficult version of medieval life. They might have assumed it would be a breeze since they’ve played previously, but it turns out to be harder than expected. Apart from getting lost in the wilderness or being ambushed by adversaries, they’re plagued with back pain. However, what seems to disappoint everyone most is the absence of the bunnies.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Players Find Hardcore Mode A Lot Harder Than Expected

On the Kingdom Come subreddit, players have been humorously recounting tough situations they’ve encountered while playing in Hardcore mode. For example, the Somnambulant negative trait causes characters to wake up at unexpected locations, as one player humorously demonstrated when their character, Henry, awoke in the middle of a forest after resting on a bed.

1st Player: “I’ve got bleeding feet, I’m still famished, I wasn’t certain if I was welcome just yet, I narrowly escaped attacks by wolves and robbers due to this video, and I had to rest in someone else’s bed since I was so exhausted.”

2nd Player: “Definitely! The guy who suggested I pick all the challenging traits or it would be too simple, definitely pulled my leg for sure.

Because the game rewards you with an achievement for completing it with all negative traits enabled, many players found this intriguing and wanted to give it a go, earning a trophy in the process. Yet, they were unprepared for just how indispensable the user interface turned out to be. “What took me aback was the absence of bunnies in Apollonia at the beginning,” commented another player. “I got caught by the first guard because I didn’t notice he could see me until he attacked me.

It appears that the Warhorse team wasn’t joking when they created Hardcore Mode. Sadly, not everyone can handle the challenges of medieval peasant life.
