Walking Dead Star Faked Norman Reedus Voice for Posh Dinner Reservation

Summary

  • Aaron wins Rick’s trust and brings the group to Alexandria, surviving attacks from the Wolves.
  • Ross Marquand uses his Norman Reedus impression to secure a posh restaurant reservation.
  • Daryl and Aaron are among the few characters to make it to the final season of The Walking Dead.

Season 5 of The Walking Dead presented numerous heart-stopping scenarios for Rick and his companions. From Carol eliminating the residents at Terminus, to the group’s struggle to rescue Beth from the hospital, and Eugene revealing the truth about knowing a cure for the virus, Aaron, portrayed by Ross Marquand, was also introduced in this season.

In the prolonged AMC series, Aaron and Eric were chosen to gather survivors to strengthen the community of individuals skilled in surviving the harsh outside world. After multiple attempts to demonstrate his friendly nature, such as providing water for the struggling group, Aaron eventually gained Rick’s confidence and led the gang back to Alexandria. Initially skeptical of Aaron, Rick eventually became one of Aaron’s closest friends. Not too long after settling into Alexandria, the community was under siege by the Wolves, but fortunately, due to Rick, Michonne, and Daryl’s sharp survival instincts, they were able to repel them, ensuring their peaceful haven for a while. Fans who have observed the cast outside of their roles on The Walking Dead are aware that they all share a playful and jovial camaraderie, with Ross Marquand pulling off the grandest prank by impersonating Reedus to gain entry into an exclusive restaurant.

The Walking Dead’s Ross Marquand Used His Norman Reedus Impression To Get Into a Fancy Restaurant

Based on information from ScreenRant, it appears that Ross Marquand, who recently participated in the Spotlight Panel at AwesomeCon, was asked if he had ever used his voice acting abilities to play a prank on someone. It seems that Marquand enjoys assuming the persona of Norman Reedus and even went so far as to imitate Reedus’s voice to secure a table reservation for himself and other Walking Dead cast members at an upscale restaurant where he didn’t think he had enough influence to get a booking. Marquand also acknowledged that Reedus was unaware of the prank until it was revealed in front of a large audience.

One occasion, I managed to secure a table at an exclusive restaurant for myself and some members of the Walking Dead cast, thanks to my ability to mimic Norman Reedus. This was a rare instance where I’d use this skill, as I wasn’t certain my influence would be sufficient to gain entry into such a high-end establishment. With a casual air, I said something along the lines of, “[in a Reedus-like tone] Hey, yeah, it’s Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead here. We’re just trying to grab a table for about 10 of us. Is that okay?”, and they welcomed us with open arms, saying “Yes, of course, Norman Reedus. Whatever you need.” And it paid off!

Marquand is widely recognized for his remarkable ability to mimic famous personalities such as Matthew McConaughey, John C. Reilly, Antonio Banderas, Christopher Walken, Kevin Spacey, Matt Damon, Justin Timberlake, Gary Busey, Sylvester Stallone, Michael Caine, and Christian Bale, during mock Oscar acceptance speeches. The range of his talent is truly extensive. Fortunately, thanks to the close bond between the cast members on ‘The Walking Dead’, Reedus will most likely find Marquand’s impression of him amusing and consider it a significant compliment. Characters like Daryl and Aaron are among the few who make it to the final season, with beloved characters such as Glenn, Carl, Abraham, Sasha, and Tara (rest in peace) having departed.

In two upcoming events for “The Walking Dead” series, Season 2 of “Dead City” is scheduled to premiere on May 4, 2025. Meanwhile, fans can look forward to Daryl Dixon’s third season sometime around the autumn months this year.
