In the latest installment of Bosch: Legacy, written by showrunner Tom Bernardo and directed by Adam Davidson, Chandler is eager to impose the death penalty on Humberto Zarrillo once he’s apprehended. This was made possible due to a tracker Jack Garrity had placed on his car, as Garrity seeks to negotiate after Bosch exposed his part in Robertson’s murder. In the second-to-last episode of “Bosch: Legacy”, events kick off with Humberto Zorrillo attempting to infiltrate Jack Garrity’s residence, yet finding it empty and pitch black. Zorrillo extinguishes a cigarette on the table before departing. It’s later revealed that Garrity was secretly staying at a neighbor’s place, and he comes back when the danger has passed. However, to his surprise, Harry Bosch is there to greet him upon his return, aiming a gun directly at his head.
You have to answer for Jimmy Robertson.
Garrity holds crucial information about Zarrillo’s whereabouts and DNA evidence since there’s a tracker on his car and a cigarette with his DNA at home. This gives him some power in negotiations, even though the authorities caution that it’s premature to make demands like witness protection and immunity. Meanwhile, Vasquez attempts to persuade Albert to collaborate for a better deal, but her own family visit leaves her feeling emotional as they grapple with the situation. Later on, Vasquez and Maddie unwind at the Cocktail Lounge, only to find themselves embroiled in a violent bar brawl.

In Harry Bosch’s apartment, he readies for the hunt to find Finbar McShane, assisted by Ken Gerbizs and Maurice ‘Mo’ Bassi. Maddie interjects during their meeting, questioning her father about the details of the operation, urging him to bring McShane back alive so he can be prosecuted. He remains unwilling to make any guarantees. Chandler deliberates over the Zarillo case with the police chief, considering that seeking the death penalty would send a powerful message. Meanwhile, Patrick Currey finds himself in trouble when his girlfriend has an adverse reaction to drugs. However, he manages to escape the predicament as he is given Chandler’s most confidential secrets as a means of blackmail against her. Later on, Chandler learns that the US Attorney is taking over the case with a DEA joint task force, but she is advised that her actions regarding Jimmy Robertson were justified, yet she worries that the LAPD may lack confidence in the DA’s office.

What Happens In Mexico In The Penultimate Episode Of Bosch: Legacy Season 3?

Bosch, Mo, and Gerbizs touch down in Mexico, on a mission to find McShane. Agent Hovan of DEA contacts Bosch, announcing that Zarrillo has been apprehended, bringing much-needed relief. The hunt for McShane takes center stage, with a youth providing the team with critical leads that ultimately pinpoint McShane’s hideout. Gerbizs and Bosch subdue the boy and make a dash for the border. McShane attempts to buy them off with promises of wealth, but Bosch warns him that he can save his offers for the Day. McShane antagonizes Bosch about his past relationship with Siobhan, prompting the former LAPD detective to fracture his nose.

At the border, Federal officers are present, causing a predicament for Bosch and Gerbizs. They forcefully remove him from their vehicle, and McShane taunts them about the children’s deaths, provoking Bosch to threaten him with a knife. McShane continues to provoke them, until Gerbizs shoots him fatally in the head. The story concludes with Bosch returning home, phoning Siobhan to inform her the case has been resolved. However, he refrains from providing specifics and suggests she reach out to him if she ever visits Los Angeles again. Maddie enquires about the events in Mexico, and Bosch reveals that McShane is deceased, but not at his own hand.
Case Closed.
