Nevertheless, Naruto’s circumstances had always been this way. Initially, he struggled with even the fundamentals, often being dismissed as a failure by many. It seemed that he would simply become an annoyance to the Hidden Leaf Village. However, his teachers remained hopeful in him and nurtured his growth. One of his influential mentors was Jiraiya.

Many fans of Naruto admire Jiraiya for his nurturing role towards his pupil. After encountering Naruto, Jiraiya made every effort to support him. However, despite being a remarkable individual, Jiraiya was far from an effective teacher. In fact, one could convincingly argue that he was the most inept teacher who trained Naruto, and there’s plenty of proof to support this assertion.

After Sasuke left the Concealed Village, Naruto embarked on a two-year journey alongside Jiraiya, a renowned member of the Legendary Three Sages. Given this association, fans anticipated that Naruto would learn various techniques. However, contrary to expectations, during his absence, Jiraiya primarily helped Naruto enlarge his Rasengan ability.

It might be viewed as progress if the training period spanned merely a couple of weeks. However, it was quite disheartening that after being away for two and a half years, Naruto returned to the Hidden Leaf with only a single skill mastered under his belt.

Tsunade And Orochimaru Managed Their Students Better

Compared to before, Orochimaru greatly enhanced Sasuke’s fighting abilities. He taught him the art of swordsmanship, and by the time Part 2 began, Sasuke had reached mastery level with the blade. Additionally, Sasuke became proficient in using the Curse Seal, giving him an advantage in battles. Moreover, he developed potent techniques such as Kirin, Chidori Nagashi, among others.

While some might contend that Sasuke was simpler to educate, the crux of the matter is that Orochimaru remained his mentor. Comparatively, Sakura learned more from Tsunade than Naruto did under Jiraiya. Sakura’s chakra control improved dramatically, and she excelled as a medical ninja. Her physical strength also saw substantial growth.

Naruto Learned Most Things On His Own

In Part 2, Naruto’s power enhancements originated from external sources. For instance, Naruto developed the Rasenshuriken during his training with Kakashi and Yamato. Interestingly, Jiraiya didn’t instruct Naruto on Sage Mode despite having ample time to do so, which seems unusual. Eventually, Naruto had to seek assistance from Fukasaku to master this ability. Additionally, although Jiraiya attempted to teach Naruto how to control the Nine-Tails, he was unsuccessful. It was only with Killer B’s aid that Naruto finally grasped this skill.

I can’t help but reflect on the exceptional ninjas who were once students of the renowned Jiraiya – Nagato, Minato, and Konan. Among these three, it’s noteworthy that Jiraiya himself was only their instructor up until the fundamental level for Nagato and Konan. After that point, he moved on from them. The exceptional Minato, however, was a prodigy who surpassed all expectations at the Hidden Leaf Academy with his unparalleled prowess.

Jiraiya Taught Naruto The Most Important Quality Of A Ninja

Through his tutelage, Jiraiya may not have boosted Naruto’s physical prowess directly, but he significantly strengthened him mentally. By instilling ninja values and principles, Jiraiya shaped Naruto’s mindset. Moreover, Jiraiya played a pivotal role in helping Naruto confront and overcome his feelings of isolation.
