Summary
- The Division 2‘s Battle for Brooklyn DLC is reportedly targeting a late May 2025 release.
- The upcoming expansion is rumored to be limited in scope and retail for $15.
According to a trusted source within the gaming industry, it’s expected that the next downloadable content for “Tom Clancy’s The Division 2” will likely be available starting late May 2025. This insider also disclosed some extra details about the upcoming expansion of “The Division 2”, such as its rumored cost and extent.
On March 15th, it has been six years since The Division 2 debuted on personal computers, as well as PlayStation and Xbox consoles of the previous generation. Despite Massive Entertainment no longer producing substantial expansion packs for its multiplayer shooter, they continue to keep the game active. The most recent season for The Division 2, titled First Rogue, was released in June 2024. As initially planned by Massive Entertainment, a new DLC would follow this move in late 2024; however, due to unforeseen circumstances, this content update has been postponed until 2025.
According to Tom Henderson, an insider from Insider Gaming, we can expect the next DLC for the game to drop this coming spring. Named “Battle for Brooklyn”, this upcoming expansion is anticipated to release around late May 2025, as per his remarks during the recent episode of the Insider Gaming Weekly podcast. Henderson also hinted that the delayed DLC for The Division 2 will have a smaller scale compared to previous releases in the series, with Battle for Brooklyn priced at $15.
The Division 2: Battle for Brooklyn Release Date Announcement Is Likely Coming Soon
On April 23rd, Massive Entertainment plans to unveil further information about “The Division 2: Battle for Brooklyn”. This upcoming event could be an ideal opportunity for the developers to disclose the official launch date of the upcoming expansion, considering Henderson’s assumption that it is aiming for a late May 2025 debut. It appears that “Battle for Brooklyn” will coincide with the game’s Year 6 Season 4, which began on February 25th.
Henderson’s recently disclosed estimated release window matches up with certain fan speculations concerning the timing of “Battle for Brooklyn.” Given Massive’s pattern of revealing significant content releases four to five weeks ahead, some enthusiasts have taken the April 23 showcase as a robust hint that the following expansion pack for “The Division 2” could debut anywhere between May 27 and June 10.
At this point, it’s uncertain how long “The Division 2” will keep getting new updates. Its initial update plan was set to wrap up towards the end of 2020, but it got extended due to the game being more successful than Ubisoft anticipated. Although major updates might not be in the cards, smaller additions such as the recent “The Division 2” x “STALKER 2” crossover could still appear in the near future.
