During the adventure known as “The Dragon Slayer Quest” in the game RuneScape: Dragonwilds, the players’ objective is the mysterious location called Whispering Swamp. Here, an Old Wise Man tasks the players with exploring their initial Vault – a place he describes as the ‘blue-torch entrance’.

Within the hidden depths of the ‘Whispering Swamp’s Vault’, players have the opportunity to gather substantial amounts of Clay, Runes, Vault Shards, and Rune Essence in the game ‘RuneScape: Dragonwilds’. Furthermore, they can uncover three Rune Vault Cores, these valuable items are essential for crafting a Loadstone.

How To Reach Whispering Swamp In RuneScape: Dragonwilds

To get to Whispering Swamp in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, players have two options: they can travel towards the northeastern area of the map or follow the Dragon Slayer Primary Quest. Either choice will take them to their destination, but completing the quest will provide a helpful marker that guides them directly to the precise location.

Before setting off for the Whispering Swamp, players might want to brew some antidote potions in case they encounter foes that can cause poisoning with their attacks, such as the filthy Rats of Putrefaction.

How To Clear Whispering Swamp’s Vault In RuneScape: Dragonwilds

If players die inside the Vault, their items will spawn outside the Vault’s door.

To find the three Vault Cores within the Whispering Swamp Vault, make your way through the Vault’s entrance.

Vault Core #1

Upon entering, head towards the north while staying vigilant as two colossal rats lurk behind a shattered pillar and may attack from ambush. Overcome them, and proceed moving north. Ascend the stairs on your left (western side) to advance to your next destination. Employ your agility skill to navigate around any traps that lie ahead, then step into the room located to the west.

As I delve into the Vault, three Sentinels stand guard over the first Vault Core in the room. If I’m venturing alone, I can lead these enemies towards traps one-by-one using my bow, ensuring a safe way to deal damage. Once they’re defeated, I’ll grab the Vault Core and the treasure chest by the door, then…

  • Walk through the door and turn west.
  • Pass another set of traps.
  • Defeat two Giant Rats inside the next room.
  • Use the dodging skill to pass the traps.
  • Enter the room.
  • Defeat the four Vault Guardian Sentinels.
  • Obtain the collectibles inside the chest in the right corner of the room.

Vault Core #2

Moving on, players will find themselves in a room with three possible paths: north, west, and east. However, before they ascend the stairs ahead which take them to their ultimate goal, they should first check out the eastern and western routes. The eastern path will guide players towards the second Vault Core location within the game’s Dragonwilds expansion in RuneScape.

Keep in mind that you’ll encounter two Vault Guardian Sentinels and three Giant Rats as guards. Defeat these enemies, retrieve the Vault Core, and then examine the luminous statue hidden behind them to discover the recipe for the Anti-Dragon Shield within RuneScape: Dragonwilds.

On the western path, there is just one adversary keeping watch, as he’s protecting a straightforward treasure box which could hold a tome, a blueprint for crafting, precious shards, and various other valuable items.

Vault Core #3

Next, go back and take the western stairs, then:

  • Pass the set of traps
  • Defeat the three Vault Guardian Sentinels.
  • Climb the stairs upward.
  • Collect the chest on the stairs.
  • Continue upward.
  • Talk to Spitfoot to progress in the Dragon Slayer quest.
  • Interact with the lever to open the shortcut route and the locked door inside Whispering Swamp’s Vault.

The unfastened door conceals the spot of the ultimate Vault Core within the Whispering Swamp Vault. You’ll find it protected by a pair of Giant Rats and a Rat King. To vanquish them, players can strengthen their weapons with the Fire Spell Enhancement in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, followed by an assault. After they are defeated, pick up the Vault Core and chest, then escape.
