Although Jujutsu Kaisen may have concluded some time back, the epic showdown between Gojo and Sukuna continues to resonate with viewers. This battle, a true visual feast, left fans on tenterhooks for extended periods.
It’s common knowledge among fans that history’s most powerful sorcerer, Ryomen Sukuna, emerged victorious in the battle. Yet, there’s ongoing debate about who truly outmatched whom. Now, Gege has further ignited the discussion by revealing the details of their confrontation, thereby clarifying which one was indeed stronger.
Gojo Vs Sukuna’s Result: How Sukuna Beat Gojo
- Sukuna And Gojo Were Level
- Gojo Was Split In Half By Sukuna
From the earliest chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen, it was clear that Gojo and Sukuna would clash. Readers anticipated this confrontation from the start because the author foreshadowed it by establishing both characters as the strongest of their respective eras and positioning them on opposite sides. Sukuna’s desire to eliminate Gojo only served to reinforce the likelihood of this battle, and fans were not taken aback when the long-awaited showdown between Gojo and Sukuna unfolded following the Culling Game arc.
Farewell, Gojo Satoru! I shall never forget you for as long as I live. — Sukuna after Gojo’s Death
The conflict initiated during the Shinjuku Showdown Arc, undeniably standing out as the most thrilling fight in the series. Gojo and Sukuna were equally matched, with either one gaining an advantage at certain moments only for the other to seize control subsequently. The outcome was so close that arguments could have been made for either character being the strongest. However, ultimately, there was only one victor in this battle. In a surprising turn of events, Sukuna emerged victorious by slaying Gojo, thanks to Mahoraga enhancing his abilities significantly. Utilizing the World Splitting Dismantle, Sukuna managed to outmaneuver Gojo’s Limitless and secure the victory. For many viewers, this fight served as strong evidence supporting Sukuna’s superior strength. Nevertheless, several aspects needed careful consideration when analyzing the outcome.
Gege Confirms Gojo’s Defeat Was Due To Lowering His Guard
Normal Gojo Would’ve Sensed The Attack Coming
Over the past few days, I’ve been absolutely thrilled by Gege Akutami’s insights into the epic battle between Gojo and Sukuna! It’s been a rollercoaster ride of revelations, but none have been as mind-blowing as the one that clarified the outcome of this incredible clash. To my fellow fans’ great surprise, Gege himself has confirmed that contrary to popular belief, Sukuna didn’t win because he was stronger – far from it! In fact, during their confrontation, Gojo had been the clear frontrunner. However, in a heartbreaking twist, Sukuna seized his moment of vulnerability and landed the killing blow just when Gojo let his guard slip. Gege’s take on the Gojo vs Sukuna battle is as intriguing as ever!
After overpowering Mahoraga, Gojo believed that Sukuna could no longer find a way around his infinity any longer. However, it seems that the typical Gojo would have detected something was off and possibly avoided taking a fatal blow. (Gege Akutami)
According to Gege himself, the unique circumstances led to Sukuna winning the fight because Gojo momentarily lapsed in focus. This doesn’t imply that Sukuna is stronger; rather, it suggests that under different conditions, Gojo could have easily dodged or avoided injury. It’s also worth noting that if Sukuna’s World Splitting Dismantle had not been successful, Gojo would have effortlessly defeated him since his Reality Manipulation (RCT) was restored following the Black Flash Hits, allowing him to access his Complete Transformation and even his domain once more. In essence, if Gojo had managed to dodge the slash, it would have spelled certain defeat for Sukuna.
Sukuna Couldn’t Have Beaten Gojo Without Mahoraga
Sukuna Would’ve Lost Badly Without Mahoraga
In essence, if Gojo had paid more attention during their battle, he probably would have emerged victorious. However, what stands out even more is that Sukuna wouldn’t have been able to defeat Gojo without Mahoraga. Gojo was at a disadvantage in the fight because Sukuna had the upper hand in terms of Cursed Technique and domain. The possession of Megumi Fushiguro’s body greatly benefited Sukuna, and without it, he might have lost. Ultimately, Gojo was significantly stronger and would likely have won had he not been distracted.
The long-awaited final chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, numbered as JJK 271, was finally published on September 29, 2024. Readers can enjoy the series on either the Manga Plus or Shonen Jump mobile applications.
