As a die-hard film enthusiast who’s always on the lookout for the next big thing in gaming, let me tell you how thrilling it is to discover that Stardew Valley now offers a multiplayer mode! This update invites up to eight of my closest friends to dive into the rural life with me. Each one of us gets to control our unique characters, manage our personal energy reserves, hone skills, fill our individual inventories, build relationships with NPCs, and even embark on our own quests. It’s like we’re all stars in our very own farm-life film!
Sharing a farm with friends can foster strong connections within the game, as it often does among the characters in games like Stardew Valley. In this case, friendships between players can blossom into romantic relationships, much like the villagers and the farmer in Stardew Valley. To take these relationships to the next level, players can opt for marriage by exchanging a symbol of their commitment – a Wedding Ring.
How To Get A Wedding Ring in Stardew Valley
Unlike the real world, you can’t simply walk into a store to buy items in Stardew Valley. Instead, you have to create them yourself by using a straightforward crafting recipe.
In Stardew Valley, I’ve come to appreciate a special find: the elusive Wedding Ring recipe. This coveted secret can only be obtained from the wandering merchant’s cart, which occasionally appears in the mystical Cindersap Forest. Interestingly enough, this mysterious merchant visits on Fridays and Sundays. To acquire the recipe, one must part with a tidy sum of 500 gold coins – a small price to pay for such a unique item!
Once you have the recipe, you need the following materials to craft the Wedding Ring:
- 5 Iridium Bars
- 1
In a single-player setting, it’s not possible to acquire the Wedding Ring recipe or create the item using regular game mechanics.
How To Use The Wedding Ring in Stardew Valley

In a multiplayer setting, the Wedding Ring is solely intended for forming matrimony with other players, not NPC village dwellers.
To ask a fellow player for marriage, find the Wedding Ring item within your inventory and engage with the player you wish to wed. They’ll be given the chance to accept or decline. If they accept, a wedding ceremony will occur in 3 in-game days, but keep in mind that the Wedding Ring cannot be used again after this special event.
In Stardew Valley, a Wedding Ring functions just like other rings you might find, slot-wise. However, unlike these other rings, it doesn’t offer any extra benefits or perks for the player. Just like its ring counterparts, it can be sold for gold at the Adventurer’s Guild. But here’s an interesting twist: unlike with other items, you cannot give a Wedding Ring as a gift to any of the villagers in the Valley.
As a devoted player, I found myself yearning to tie the knot with one of the charming NPCs in my single-player world. To make this dream a reality, I had to obtain a special item known as the Wedding Bell. This precious artifact could be procured from the Old Mariner, who only appeared on the beach during a rainy day. The price? A hefty sum of 5,000 gold coins. However, before approaching the Old Mariner, I had to ensure that my relationship with the potential spouse had reached at least 10 hearts, and my house had undergone at least one upgrade.
