The game “Dying Light 2: Stay Human,” developed by Techland, celebrated its third year since launch on February 4th. Since then, the studio has consistently updated their open-world action RPG.
In mid-April 2025, Techland launched update version 1.22 for Dying Light 2. This update brings co-op and user interface enhancements, along with fresh content. The latest iteration of Tower Raid mode in Dying Light 2 now features 27 new weapons, including three Elemental Pistols. These additions aren’t mere extras; they come equipped with distinct traits that can lead to strategic benefits, prompting players to try out different approaches. Moreover, the rewards for completing Tower Raids have been revised, offering a range of unique cosmetics and items such as the Breach outfit.
Dying Light 2 Update 1.22 Makes Claiming Tower Raid Rewards More Convenient
In the latest update (version 1.22), Techland has streamlined the user experience of Tower Raid, making it easier for players to collect their rewards. Now, players have the flexibility to claim unlocked items whenever they wish, ensuring no more missed opportunities. Additionally, there are some minor adjustments made to the HUD that clearly indicate when new rewards are earned and ready for collection.
In spring 2025, the update for Dying Light 2 enhances the cooperative play by making adjustments and rectifying bugs. Problems related to enemy behavior caused by player synchronization have been minimized, and the Head-Up Display (HUD) has been optimized to provide clearer visual indicators and a more organized presentation of information. Additionally, the developers have introduced a visual mods tool for the game, which enables customization of environment, weapon, and clothing textures for creative enthusiasts. At present, this feature is only available on PC, but it’s intended to be rolled out on console versions of the game as well in the future.
The version 1.22 launch signifies Techland’s formal commencement of their ambitious plan for Dying Light 2, which spans until 2025. From hereon, the team intends to host a significant summer event, positioning it as part of their festivities marking the series’ decade-long anniversary. Additionally, a large-scale autumn update is planned, with anticipation that its impact will be similar to the 1.22 patch. Further down the line in late 2025, another Dying Light 2 Winter Tales event is scheduled.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human Update 1.22 Patch Notes
Tower Raid — new weapons and rewards
The new update brings in a broader selection of weapons, adding 27 new options (which include 24 Elemental Weapons and 3 Elemental Pistols as requested), each providing distinctive abilities and tactical benefits, prompting players to experiment with their play styles. At the same time, prizes have been revamped, presenting a variety of appealing exclusive skins and other goods. Among these rewards, you’ll discover the eagerly awaited Breach outfit, one of the first Tower Raid skins, that lets you traverse the city.
Beyond this, we’ve made some user-friendly adjustments to streamline the reward process. Now, players have the flexibility to collect rewards whenever they prefer, reducing the chance of overlooked items. Additionally, we’ve boosted communication within the Head-Up Display (HUD) to promptly notify players when rewards are earned, keeping them informed about their progress and milestones.
Co-op improvements
In the Spring Update, you can anticipate a multitude of improvements aimed at improving your cooperative gameplay. We’ve tackled and rectified several problems related to enemy behavior that were influenced by player synchronization. This is intended to provide a smoother gaming experience with fewer inconsistencies, such as enemies appearing abruptly or lagging.
The Heads-Up Display (HUD) has undergone significant upgrades, offering cleaner visual indicators and easier navigation to essential details. This results in improved overall understanding of the game situation when multiple players are involved on the screen.
I’m pumped to tell you that our journey doesn’t end here! Cooperative gameplay has always been at the heart of our project, and we’ve been diligently working on refining this aspect over the past few months. Rest assured, our dedication to making it even better doesn’t stop now; we’re committed to continuously improving it moving forward.

Introducing our latest visual mods tool for Dying Light 2 Developer Tools. Currently accessible on PC, this innovative tool provides numerous customization options, enabling players to alter textures in the surroundings, weapons, and even clothing.
