Summary
- One Piece anime returned with a new late timeslot
- Switching the timeslot has increased overall viewership
- Fans are excited for upcoming battles in the Egghead arc
After a prolonged absence, the popular “One Piece” anime resumed its run in April, primarily due to the studio’s desire to uphold quality standards. Upon its return, there was a significant adjustment – a shift from its initial early time slot to a later one.
The shift in broadcasting timing for this anime has proven quite advantageous, as stated by Mayumi Tanaka, the voice actress of Monkey D. Luffy. She disclosed that the change has led to an increase in total viewership. Although it’s only been a few episodes since the anime came back, the initial signs are positive.
One Piece Anime Picked Up Where It Left Off
When the One Piece anime took a hiatus, its enthusiasts felt disheartened, knowing they’d have to wait till 2025 for another episode. Yet, they realized the significance of the pause, recognizing it as essential for the dedicated team at Toei Animation. These individuals were consistently churning out outstanding episodes each week, and they deserved a well-earned respite.
Initially, some viewers had doubts if the quality would remain consistent following the studio’s hiatus. However, it seems their concerns were unwarranted as the released episodes have shown no sign of a drop in animation quality.
Fans’ main issue is about additional scenes that Toei Animation has been inserting into specific episodes, which they find unnecessary. In Episode 1124, these added scenes particularly impacted Sanji negatively. For instance, a flashback scene was included where Nami saved Sanji from the Seraphim, while Zoro was portrayed effortlessly defeating two of them. Let’s hope that Toei Animation reconsiders this practice of including such scenes in future episodes.
One Piece Fans Should Brace Themselves For The Upcoming Episodes

The storyline of One Piece’s Egghead arc is now moving into its concluding segment. This means fans should brace themselves for some thrilling showdowns that promise to keep them gripped throughout. In particular, Episode 1126 will feature an epic clash between Kizaru and Luffy.
Based on what I’ve seen in the sneak peek, it appears that we’re in store for quite a showdown. There might be lengthy sequences to offer a more comprehensive understanding of the combatants’ abilities. This fight is expected to span across two upcoming episodes, so get ready for an unforgettable viewing experience!
One Piece is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
