  • Chopper is a sassy, loyal, and hilarious droid, voiced by Filoni, making him a beloved character by fans.

It’s been announced that we can expect another season of the series, Ahsoka, with its creator revealing exciting news about Season 2 that fans will definitely appreciate hearing.

The live-action series “Ahsoka,” available on Disney+ and created by Dave Filoni, focuses on Ahsoka Tano (played by Rosario Dawson), who was once a Padawan under Anakin Skywalker in the Jedi Order. The first season of this show was met with praise, particularly for its stunning visuals and thrilling action sequences. A highlight was Hayden Christensen’s appearance as Anakin Skywalker in the fifth episode, “Shadow Warrior.” It has been confirmed that Christensen will reprise his role in Season 2, and another beloved character is expected to make an appearance alongside him.

Previously, enthusiasts of the iconic saga, Star Wars, gathered in Tokyo, Japan for the annual Star Wars Celebration. At this gathering, Dave Filoni disclosed additional information about Season 2 of Ahsoka, focusing on which characters would make a comeback. He also hinted at several characters who will have extended screen time during the upcoming season. As per Filoni’s revelations, Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), Ezra (Eman Esfandi), and Hera (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) are all reprising their roles, with fans looking forward to seeing more of them. Regarding Hera, her role in Season 2 will be significantly more active in the action, according to Filoni’s comments. Moreover, the creator announced that another fan-favorite character, Chopper, will also make an appearance. According to Filoni, the audience has been clamoring for more of this lovable and humorous droid, as he shared during the event on Star Wars’ official social media account.

Since there was much emphasis on it, I added significantly more Chopper to the mix. As a result, indeed, there’s a lot more Chopper present.

In a surprising turn of events, the character of Chopper from Star Wars Rebels is brought to life by Dave Filoni himself, much to the delight of fans. They adore the Ghost crew’s astromech droid for his lively, unpredictable demeanor. He’s Hera’s loyal sidekick and co-pilot, and unlike the polite R2-D2, Chopper has a unique personality. He’s sassy, noisy, and can be downright mischievous, often leaving fans in fits of laughter. His growls, grumbles, and even his arguments in droid-speak are particularly amusing. The secret behind Filoni voicing Chopper was kept under wraps until the after-credit scene of the finale revealed it. According to Filoni, they had to deliver the first short to Disney without a final voice for Chopper, so he stepped in to voice the droid for Lucasfilm’s editorial. He had already envisioned Chopper’s character, and Disney’s CEO Bob Iger was impressed by it (as reported by Futurism).

I understood the character of a charming yet annoying person and how I wanted him to develop. However, when Bob Iger commented, “I quite enjoy that small droid,” I realized I had put myself in a tight spot.

Inserting More Of The Fan-Favorite Droid Can Only Be A Positive Turn Of Events For Ahsoka

In the 2014 animated TV series, Star Wars: Rebels, the character Chopper first appeared. Initially joining the Ghost team as their astromech droid, he already exhibited a grumpy, disorderly demeanor that provided comic relief. Despite his unpredictable and sometimes sarcastic and cranky nature, he’s fiercely loyal and competent. Chopper is responsible for ship maintenance, hacking systems (slicing), co-piloting, and assisting in combat. Fans were thrilled to see him in live-action for the first time during Season 1 of Ahsoka. Since then, Chopper’s blunt personality has endeared him to many, earning him the reputation of someone who might give you the middle finger one moment and save your life the next.

Although he often comes across as a grumpy old droid who shoves other droids off ships when they bother him, BB-8’s companion, Chopper, is actually helpful and reliable. He has saved the crew of the Ghost on numerous occasions with his unconventional methods. His lack of patience and sass are some of the things that make fans adore him. It may seem strange, but despite speaking in droid language, fans somehow manage to understand him. Yes, he can be gruff, but it’s impossible not to love him because he is so entertaining and funny. In essence, Chopper gives off a rude-but-lovable vibe, which is exactly what makes him so appealing to fans. It may seem paradoxical, but that’s the charm of Chopper. You might not fully comprehend him, but you somehow get him.

Ahsoka is available for streaming on Disney+.
