However, such potent abilities don’t come free; to secure your own Legendary item, you first need to discover some Exalted equipment and a Unique item with Legendary Potential. How Does Legendary Potential Work in Last Epoch?
In simpler terms, Legendary Potential (LP) is essentially the same as regular Forging Potential for all non-unique items, but exclusively for unique items. Every unique item has a chance of dropping with LP, though the probability varies from one item to another. If your unique item comes with LP, you will have the ability to modify it, albeit differently than typical items.
In general, more potent Unique items typically exhibit a lesser likelihood of appearing as Legendary Potential (LP), whereas weaker ones show a higher probability. A Unique item may potentially boast up to 4 Legendary Potentials, but the odds of acquiring such an item are quite slim. The probability of Uniques dropping with varying LP numbers can differ significantly, and external resources like LastEpochTools can provide precise figures for each unique instance.
How to Forge Legendary Items
To manufacture your own Legendary Items, you’ll initially require a Temporal Sanctum key, an exceptional item with the potential for legendarity, and a high-grade item that you are willing to sacrifice. The process of creating legends is different from standard forging as it involves offering an entire item to your chosen Unique item. This action will result in the destruction of the former while some of its attributes will be transferred to the latter.
After gathering the necessary items and a key for the dungeon, make your way to the “Temporal Sanctum” located in the Imperial Era Majasan Desert during the Temporal Sanctum dungeon. Finish the dungeon to enter its core, where you’ll find the Eternity Cache. Interact with this cache and insert your Unique and Exalted items.
Once you have verified the two items to be combined, fast-forward time to the Epoch of Ruin. Retrieve your Legendary artifact from the Timeless Vault. Your one-of-a-kind item’s Life Points will be used up in this process, and it will acquire several attributes of the Exalted item’s based on the Life Points your Unique possessed at that moment.
Temporal Sanctum keys are uncommon finds in zones level 54 and above, but the most effective method to obtain some is by farming the Monolith of Fates, since certain maps provide key rewards as guarantees. Additionally, Exalted items tend to drop often during Monolith runs, and you can also farm for Uniques there.
