The “Blue Prince” is an intricate puzzle game offering a vast array of content. To fully discover both the entire mansion and the entire map, you’ll have to link rooms, distribute energy over squares, unlock fresh layouts, and much more.
You might be curious about the Pump Room in “Blue Prince”. Navigating the assortment of levers, buttons, and dials in here can be tricky, but don’t worry! If you’re struggling, you can find helpful information on how to manage this room below.
How to Unlock the Pump Room
To access the floor plan for the Pump Room in the game “Blue Prince“, start by locating the Pool. This is a room painted blue with three exits and a large interior occupied primarily by a pool. The Pump Room, Sauna, and Locker Room are among the rooms you can sketch once you’ve found this Pool. If you manage to figure out how to operate the pumps, you can drain the water from the pool.
How to Use the Pump Room in Blue Prince

A great method for mastering the operation of the pumps in the Pump Room is by retrieving the user manual from the Library. This manual provides an explanation on how each component functions cohesively. With this book, which can be seen in the image below, as well as the pump diagram displayed in the Pump Room itself, you’ll find it straightforward to ensure that all pumps are functioning correctly.
In the Pump Room, a diagram on the wall shows the arrangement of the pipes, mirroring the sequence of buttons on the control panel as well as the depicted pipe order in the diagram.

Pipe Name | Pipe Number | Pump Number | Tank Number | Reward |
---|---|---|---|---|
Fountain | 1 | 2 | 1 and 2 | Access to the Basement. |
Reservoir | 2 | 2 | 1 and 2 | The boat and the Reservoir. |
Aquarium | 3 | 1 | 1 | Puzzle hints |
Kitchen | 4 | 3 | 2 | None |
Greenhouse | 5 | 1 | 1 | If full, Greenhouse grows Blue Prince gem flowers. |
Pool | 6 | 4 | 1 | Blue Prince coins at the bottom of the pool. |
In the magical realm of Blue Prince, if I want to drain the Fountain where I made my wish, I’ve got to flood all the other chambers first, then funnel the excess water into one of the storage tanks. To move water between tanks, I can use any source that connects them, say a shared river or stream. There’s a mysterious Pump 2 Switch hidden somewhere behind the tanks that lets me control which tank the water flows into.
How to Empty the Reservoir in Blue Prince
If you’ve been tinkering with the assortment of pumps for some time now, you’re likely aware that most water storage areas are already full, and both tanks aren’t sufficient to completely drain the Reservoir. To investigate the floor of the Reservoir, it’s necessary to activate the Reserve tank situated across from the Pump Room. This necessitates providing power to the Pump Room, which can be achieved by connecting to a power source – the Boiler Room located within the ship Blue Prince.

As a gamer, I’ve noticed there are several power-connecting floor tiles scattered around, like those in the Archive, Gym, Lab, and more. Before exiting the Boiler Room, it’s wise to activate the power source first. This will highlight the tiles that can distribute electricity for me. Once connected, I’ll gain access to some additional buttons within the Pump Room. These buttons allow me to drain tank 1 or tank 2 into the reserve tank situated on the opposite side of the room.
