Summary
- The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered includes all the original game’s DLC.
- That means that PlayStation players can finally explore Frostcrag Spire, Deepscorn Hollow, and the Thieves’ Den, which (along with five other DLC packs) were originally Xbox and PC exclusive.
- You don’t need the Deluxe Edition to access the DLC, either.
If your gaming platform is only a PlayStation 3, you might’ve missed out on some aspects that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion offers. Although it did feature Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles (if you owned the Game of the Year edition), the other eight DLC packs were exclusively available on Xbox and PC systems.
That means, if you were on PlayStation, you’d have missed out on:
- The infamous Horse Armour pack;
- Orrery, a quest in which you help the Mages Guild repair an ancient dwemer machine;
- A fan-favourite player home, the Wizard’s Tower (ie Frostcrag Spire);
- Thieves’ Den, a player home nestled within Dunbarrow Cove that includes a pirate ship called The Red Sabre;
- Mehrunes’ Razor (which returned in Skyrim), rewarded for completing a new dungeon;
- Vile Lair, a player home for more villainous characters earned by undertaking the Deepscorn Hollow quest (also featured in ESO);
- Spell Tomes, which does exactly what you’d expect, adding new spells to the loot pool;
- And Fighter’s Stronghold, in which you must fend off bandits to become lord of Battlehorn Castle, another player home.
In The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, you will find all previously released expansions such as Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles. This is the first time in 18 years that PlayStation players can enjoy all the game’s DLC content. Therefore, this version of the game on PlayStation offers the most comprehensive gaming experience.
You Don’t Need The Deluxe Edition, Either
It’s great news that all downloadable content comes with the standard version of Oblivion Remastered, so you don’t have to spend extra £10 for the Deluxe Edition to get these bonus packs. This means, as soon as you exit the sewers and head towards Bruma, you can establish a business in Frostcrag Spire, one of the finest player homes in the series.
In the Deluxe Version, you’ll find fresh quest lines that grant you unique armor sets, weapons, and yes, horse armor too – all themed around Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon. These items have been meticulously crafted exclusively for this remake.
Essentially, all content from the original Oblivion and its various DLC expansions are incorporated in the standard edition of the Remastered version. This implies that PlayStation gamers have a wealth of fresh, exciting material to explore, despite the game being almost two decades old.
