Card Families as Characters

The freshly released anime spin-off of Yu-Gi-Oh! focuses on the Sky Striker Ace narrative, derived from the female car monster card archetype called Sky Striker Ace. This anime is developed from Shin Yoshida’s (screenwriter for various Yu-Gi-Oh! projects) and Naohito Miyoshi’s (story and art for Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V) manga series titled Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Stories, published in Shueisha’s V Jump magazine starting from April 2022. The story primarily revolves around Sky Striker Ace – Raye, as she defends her allies while forming a bond with Roze, the pilot of an opposing nation’s Sky Striker.

For instance, the Egyptian God Cards, with their immense power affecting the environment (akin to the Dragon cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s), the comical Ojama Trio, and even the emergence of a dominant ego as seen with Yubel in GX. The cast for the Sky Striker Ace arc of Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Game The Chronicles features Anna Nagase (Ushio Kofune from Summer Time Rendering) as Raye, and Nene Hieda (Kamome Kushima from Summer Pockets) as Roze.
