RuneScape: Dragonwilds’ Next Update Prolongs Event Cooldowns and Tweaks UI

Summary

  • Cooldown periods for major in-game events in RuneScape: Dragonwilds will become longer in patch Version 0.7.1.5.
  • Changes include reduced frequency for raids and Velgar attacks, giving players more time to prepare.
  • The patch also brings UI and stability fixes and balancing changes, hinting at more features in the future.

The upcoming Version 0.7.1.5 update for RuneScape: Dragonwilds will alter several in-game events by extending the time between them, allowing for a wider variety of content. As of now, there’s no confirmed release date for the next patch of RuneScape: Dragonwilds, but it is anticipated to be rolled out within the coming days.

As a dedicated fan, I was taken aback when the open-world survival spin-off of good old RuneScape popped up unexpectedly at the end of March, swiftly landing in early access on PC on April 15th. At first, it drew in around 50,000 concurrent players, but by April 22nd, that number had dropped significantly. This decline is probably due to players exhausting available activities in the game’s initial build. However, these updates appear geared towards beefing up content as we edge closer to its complete release, keeping my adventuring spirit alive and well!

This upcoming patch, due later this week, focuses on three main developments: Being Chased, Goblin Raiders, and Velgar Assaults. Post-patch, you’ll notice these events happening less often. In the world of RuneScape: Dragonwilds, goblin raid parties will now form every four days instead of every two due to an extended cooldown period. Furthermore, raids on bases will occur less frequently, with the probability decreasing from 10% to 5%, giving newcomers more time to prepare as they’ll have to wait 12 in-game days before a potential raid rather than the current nine-day cycle. Lastly, the cooldown for base raids has been extended from every two days to approximately every 3.75 days.

In conjunction with these raids, players of RuneScape: Dragonwinds can look forward to a less hectic time against General Velgar as his attacks are set for a substantial decrease. From now on, only two meteor barrages will be permitted during his special events, down from five. Moreover, the dragon’s poisonous breath will be restricted to specific strafing runs instead of being prevalent throughout the battles. This update is also expected to bring minor enhancements to the user interface, stability, and experience point balancing.

In the beginning stages, there are several adjustments, but many other alterations have been announced for the survival game in the future. The early access roadmap for RuneScape: Dragonwilds, released soon after the game’s debut, has pointed out a variety of upcoming features. These include the introduction of the eerie Fellhollow region and its boss dragon, Imaru; skill trees for magic, ranged combat, and farming; the arrival of new gear, quests, RuneScape lore, and much more.
