- Steel City Interactive teases Ryan Garcia’s return to Undisputed.
- Garcia was removed from the game shortly after his expulsion from the World Boxing Council in July 2024.
- A new post by Undisputed teases a silhouette of a boxer, with many confident that it is Ryan Garcia.
It seems that Steel City Interactive may be hinting at the comeback of boxer Ryan Garcia within the game Undisputed. However, Garcia was previously taken out of the game before its official release following his expulsion from the World Boxing Council in July 2024 due to offensive language on his social media. Additionally, Garcia was suspended from boxing in April 2024 after a positive drug test, but he’s set to make his ring comeback on May 2nd.
Steel City Interactive announced on October 3 that they would be taking Ryan Garcia out of the game Undisputed, effective immediately. During the game’s early access phase, Garcia had been included, but he was removed mere days before the official release. In a statement explaining this move, Steel City stated they were following the World Boxing Council’s lead. Despite still being suspended by the WBC, Garcia’s boxing ban as a whole has now been lifted. However, he will remain unable to compete for any WBC-sanctioned titles. Instead, Garcia will make his comeback on May 2 when he squares off against Rolando Romero, who currently boasts a record of 16 wins and 2 losses.
Ryan Garcia Could Be Returning to Undisputed
Based on the New York State Athletic Commission clearing Garcia for fighting, there’s speculation that he might be coming back to the gaming platform Undisputed. A recent tweet from the game’s official account hinted at his return with a mysterious silhouette. Although it’s just speculation at this point, many fans think this silhouette in the video could represent Ryan Garcia, suggesting he might be returning to the game soon. However, it’s uncertain when exactly he’ll make his comeback, but considering his upcoming fight in less than two weeks, it seems likely that his return to the game will happen before May 2. But, only if the silhouette truly represents Ryan Garcia.
Although Undisputed already boasts some of the greatest boxers to have ever stepped into the ring, including Muhammad Ali, Tyson Fury, Canelo Alvarez, Rocky Marciano, and numerous others, there remains a significant number of boxing legends yet to be incorporated into the game. Notable absences include Mike Tyson, George Foreman (may he rest in peace), Anthony Joshua, and Manny Pacquiao.
Despite no free new fighters being introduced, the game from Steel City has seen several downloadable content packs since its debut. One of these included the contentious figure Jake Paul in Undisputed. The latest DLC, titled Iron and Steel, brought in the Klitschko brothers, Shannon Briggs, Butterbean, among others. Regrettably, this addition didn’t sit well with many fans.
As an ardent fan of this game, I must express my disappointment following the recent release of Iron and Steel. The new fighter pack, named Undisputed, has drawn strong criticism from fellow players, primarily because of the current state of the game. Despite Steel City charging $20 for each new DLC, there’s a widespread belief that the studio should instead be dedicating their efforts towards enhancing gameplay, ironing out bugs, and fixing persistent issues. The boxing community has been vocal about numerous problems plaguing the title, including troubles with punch tracking, desync issues, and an array of other bugs.
