Apart from securing a director for our movie, we’ve also identified the main character (at least one of them), who is currently one of Hollywood’s rising stars, often referred to as an “It” girl.

Split Fiction Movie Lands A Big Star To Headline The Project

According to a recent article from Variety magazine, actress Sydney Sweeney (known for her roles in Euphoria and The White Lotus) has been confirmed to star in the upcoming movie adaptation of Split Fiction. The script for this film is being written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who are famous for writing the Deadpool and Wolverine films.

Jon M. Chu, the film’s director (known for Crazy Rich Asians), will take his seat in the director’s chair. This upcoming movie is a joint production effort by Story Kitchen and Electric Somewhere, which is Jon M. Chu’s own production company. Additionally, Sweeney will serve as an executive producer on this project.

It remains undecided which character Sweeney will portray, either Zoe or Mio, according to Variety’s sources. For those not familiar with the game’s plot, “Split Fiction” combines elements of fantasy and science fiction, telling the story of authors Mio and Zoe who find themselves stuck within the words they wrote. Given that the game is played cooperatively, it’s likely that the movie will feature two main actors.
