The remastered version of “Raidou: The Mystery of the Soul-less Army,” originally released in 2006, promises to offer an enhanced experience. Atlus has revealed additional quality-of-life improvements that could entice fans to re-experience this beloved “Shin Megami Tensei” installment upon its release. Improvements in “Raidou: The Mystery of the Soul-less Army Remastered” are expected to create a more engaging atmosphere and provide players with additional tools to facilitate navigation.
As a fan of the Shin Megami Tensei universe, I’ve found myself immersed in the Devil Summoner series, which began branching off from the main storyline back in 1995. This franchise revolves around the Kuzunoha family and their allies, who are essentially paranormal investigators with a twist – they summon demons to aid them in solving supernatural enigmas. Among these games, one that particularly stands out is the third installment, Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army. Originally launched for the PlayStation 2, this game serves as a prequel to the first two titles and takes place in an alternate 1931 timeline.
The timeless game “Devil Summoner” is due for a remastered version, set to release on June 19th as previously announced in late March. A fresh trailer showcases the game’s enhanced visuals, which are in line with technological advancements over the past almost two decades and three console generations. The updated graphics appear sleeker, boasting sharper imagery, a more vivid color scheme, and atmospheric effects.
Moreover, there are additional modernized features showcased, such as voice acting for characters and detailed environments. To improve user experience, Atlus has incorporated a quicksave feature that can be used at any time and an improved objective tracker to help players better understand their objectives.
Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army Upgrades
- Improved graphics
- Added voiceovers
- Enhanced environments
- Quicksave feature
- Easily accessible objectives
The series “Devil Summoner” isn’t the sole spin-off from the Shin Megami Tensei franchise. Many of the games that fans have grown fond of from Atlus over the past decade can be traced back to another spin-off title. The sales of “Persona 5” surpassed 10 million copies from its release in 2016 until the end of 2023, which not only gave birth to several spin-offs under its own name, but also led to remasters of other games within the “Persona “series, as well as other role-playing games from Atlus such as last year’s “Metaphor: ReFantazio“.
Beyond being set to appear on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army has also been verified for Nintendo Switch 2. Regrettably, it will not be available at the launch of this much-anticipated console, instead appearing two full weeks later. However, its addition to the Nintendo Switch 2 library may significantly bolster Atlus’s support.
