In the game called “Blue Prince“, there are two types of enhancements you can acquire. The first ones are temporary, which disappear at the end of each day, and the second ones are permanent, lasting from one day to the next. Examples of permanent changes include adding new layouts, improving rooms, and more.
As an avid player of Blue Prince, I’ve discovered that certain permanent upgrades necessitate unique items. To craft these essential items, a Workshop within the game is indispensable. This guide aims to assist fellow players in maximizing their gaming experience by ensuring they don’t miss any opportunities to interact with these items when they become available.
All Crafting Recipes at the Workshop
In the game called Blue Prince, you have a total of eight buildable items in the Workshop. Interestingly, three of these items enable you to make lasting changes within your game. Here’s a simplified guide on how to craft these items and where each interaction occurs:
1. Crafting Instructions & Locations:
– Item 1: Create in Location A. Use it by interacting with Object B.
– Item 2: Assemble in Location B. Apply it by engaging with Character C.
– Item 3: Construct in Location C. Utilize it when prompted during Event D.
Power Hammer Interactions
A Power Hammer is constructed using a modified lever (resembling a broken one), a sledgehammer, and a battery pack. This enhanced tool boasts increased power, enabling it to demolish walls, revealing previously inaccessible areas and shortcuts. These new openings will persist over time, not disappearing between days.
- Inside the Freezer: In the back left of the Freezer room, there is a sheet of ice covering part of the wall. You can break this down with the Power Hammer to see what’s hidden inside; there are also plenty of frozen items on the shelves that you can break out.
- A Shortcut to the Basement: If you head down the front steps of the house and go a little bit to the left, there is a stone staircase heading down to the platform with Blue Flames in Blue Prince. To the right, at the bottom of the stairs, is a doorway covered in planks; these can be power-hammered as well. There will be another door at the end of this tunnel to break down. It goes into the Basement.
- In the Crate Tunnel: According to user Forblaze on the Steam community page, there is also a breakable wall at the back of the “crate tunnel” once you move the crates out of the way.
- The Weight Room: The Weight Room is a four-door red room you can draft inside the house. There is a hanging punching bag with a brick wall behind it. This can be taken down with the Power Hammer to give you access to a lever for Blue Prince‘s Antechamber.
- The Secret Garden: If you head toward the far end of the Secret Garden where you find the Weathervane puzzle and the large silver crescent moon decoration, there will be a breakable wall to your right.
- Greenhouse Wall: The Greenhouse is a Dead End floorplan in Blue Prince that can be permanently altered with the Power Hammer. Head inside and turn to your left, away from the flowerbeds. There will be a brick wall that is breakable that alters this floorplan to have a second door.
- Secrets in the Underpass: If you access the underground on the far side of the Reservoir via the Blue Flame elevator or the Boat, you can find a dirt hallway with a chess puzzle on a pedestal. To the right of the entrance to this room is a crack in the wall that can be broken with the Power Hammer to reveal a clue for another puzzle.
Burning Glass Interactions
As a gamer, I figured out that you can craft the Burning Glass in Blue Prince by combining a Magnifying Glass with a Metal Detector. This handy tool is useful for lighting candles, torches, or specific surfaces, which in turn unveils hidden locations and hints, offering new paths to explore.

- The Freezer: You can use the Blue Prince item, Burning Glass, to melt the same patch of ice inside the Freezer that can be broken by the Power Hammer. You can also use it to break out any objects on the shelves, like gems, keys, and the note in the deep freezer.
- In the Chapel: There are two large candlesticks on either side of the altar in the Chapel; if you light these, you will find a little piggy bank underneath.
- The Tunnel: There is a crate-filled tunnel on the Grounds by the Blue Flame platform. Inside are two unlit torches on the walls. Light them with the Burning Glass to unlock a new floorplan.
- Twice in the Tomb: There are four candlesticks inside the Tomb, which is a floorplan that can be drafted in the Outer Room section behind the west gate. These two pairs will give you some lore and another Puzzle Box.
- In the Crate Tunnel Again: The user Forblaze on the Steam community page also states that there is a set of candles at the end of the “crate tunnel” as well.
- Reservoir Room: When you enter the underground Reservoir, you will find a room with a circle of candles surrounding an altar. If you light all these candles with Burning Glass, the floor will turn into stairs.
- Blow Up the Trading Post: You probably have noticed the TNT in the Trading Post that you can draft outside. You can light this with Burning Glass, which will blow up the wall and give you some lore and some gold coins.
- The Sundial in the Orchard: When you open up the gate in front of the orchard on the east side of the house, you can use the Burning Glass on the sundial.
Jack Hammer Interactions

The Jack Hammer is constructed by assembling a Shovel, a Battery Pack, and a Broken Lever. This tool is incredibly handy for unearthing additional items at dig spots located around your home. However, it’s important to note that using the Jack Hammer in the gem mine carries a permanent consequence – if you attempt to use it there, you risk collapsing the entire structure, which would result in losing the daily two-gem bonus forever. While this won’t happen every time you use the tool, given the potential loss of valuable Blue Prince gems, it might not be worth taking the risk.
