The much-anticipated anime film “Zombie Land Saga” is set to hit the screens later in 2022. A fresh trailer unveiled on Friday confirms the October 24 release date of “Zombie Land Saga: Dream Galactic Paradise” (or “Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise”). The production team behind this film is MAPPA, a studio renowned for works such as “Yuri!!! On ICE”, “Jujutsu Kaisen”, “Attack on Titan: The Final Season” and Shinichiro Watanabe’s latest creation, “Lazarus”.
To underscore that the story has ventured into outer space, “Also Sprach Zarathustra,” famously associated with Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, is the main melody in the latest preview for Dream Galactic Paradise. As noted earlier, the upcoming anime movie Zombie Land Saga is slated to debut on October 24, 2025.

For those not familiar, “Zombie Land Saga” is a series about Sakura Minamoto, a girl with dreams of idol stardom, whose aspirations are cut short when she’s hit by a truck and dies prematurely. Instead of being transported to another world, Minamoto revives as a zombie, joining other undead girls like her and Kōtarō Tatsumi, a man who has assembled them from various eras in Japanese history to form a zombie idol group. The upcoming “Zombie Land Saga: Dream Galactic Paradise” is being produced by MAPPA’s team, with Takafumi Ishida (CG work on “Berserk: The Golden Age Arc – Memorial Edition”) and Takeru Satō (storyboards for “Yasuke”), who were episode directors in the Zombie Land Saga TV anime, taking on directing roles. Kōnosuke Uda (director of “Lovely Complex”) serves as chief director, while Shigeru Murakoshi (series composition for “Apocalypse Hotel”) pens the scripts.
In this TV anime production of “Fumihide Sai” and “Jinshichi Yamaguchi” (chief animation directors for “Attack on Titan: The Final Season”), collaborate as character designers together with Kasumi Fukagawa, who held the same position in both seasons of the “Zombie Land Saga” series. Yasunaru Takahashi, known for composing music from “Fairy Tail”, handles the music composition. Animation producer Yuriko Waki continues her role in the production. The main cast will reprise their roles, including:

The second season, known as “Zombie Land Saga Revenge“, made its appearance in April 2024, and Crunchyroll also provided an English dub for both seasons as they were being aired.
