As a dedicated Pokémon GO player, I’m thrilled about the upcoming event called Crown Clash: Taken Over! This time, Team Rocket and Giovanni are causing chaos, and it’s our job to rescue Shadow Dialga. The action kicks off from May 14 and continues until May 18. During this period, you’ll find exclusive Pokémon in the 10km Eggs, engage with event-themed Field Research tasks, delve into Paid Timed Research, and much more! Can’t wait to jump back into the game!
Ever since its debut back in 2016, the sensationally popular mobile game Pokemon GO has consistently evolved without pause. Through the years, Niantic has rolled out numerous innovative features, incorporating content from the original Pokemon games and tailoring it to this augmented-reality smartphone adventure. As part of its ongoing development, the game has recently been acquired by Scopely, hinting at thrilling new features in the pipeline. Now, enthusiasts can anticipate an upcoming fresh event in Pokemon GO.
Between May 14th and May 18th, gamers can participate in the Crown Clash: Taken Over event, where once more they’ll encounter Pokemon GO’s Giovanni. Throughout this period, Team GO Rocket will show up more frequently at PokeStops and in balloons to challenge trainers. During the event, players can employ a Charged Technical Machine (TM) to aid a Shadow Pokemon in discarding the Charged Attack Frustration. Niantic has mentioned that Pokemon caught from one-star and three-star Shadow Raids will have a broader range of statistics for Attack, Defense, and HP.
When Is Pokemon GO’s Crown Clash: Taken Over Event Taking Place?
- May 14 to May 18
Furthermore, as you pursue Giovanni, gamers have the opportunity until June 3 to secure the Super Rocket Radar by accomplishing a Special Research mission titled “Might and Mastery” within Pokemon GO. This quest involves battling Shadow Pokemon such as Shadow Slakoth, Shadow Inkay, Shadow Tyrunt, and Shadow Amaura that Team GO Rocket controls. Defeating the team leaders will free these shadowy creatures. Additionally, players may discover more Shadow Pokemon in one-star and three-star Raids, and a few fortunate players might stumble upon a Shiny one.
From the onset of the Crown Clash: Taken Over event, Larvitar and Pawniard will appear in 10km Eggs within Pokemon GO. Players can acquire Fast Track Moves, Charged Track Moves, and Mysterious Parts by completing Field Research assignments. For those who wish to spend $4.99, they’ll unlock event-specific Timed Research which offers a Super Rocket Radar, two Premium Battle Passes, and Pokemon themed for the event.
Participants have the opportunity to showcase event-themed Pokemon at various PokeStop Showcases too. With the event approaching, May looks set to be a thrilling month for fans of Pokemon GO, as Niantic has also revealed the introduction of Dynamax Suicune during a new Max Battle Weekend starting on May 10.
