In the game Oblivion Remastered at level 50, Umbra is an exceptionally challenging boss that some players might encounter early on. She wields top-tier armor and a sword capable of swiftly annihilating enemies and capturing their souls. To obtain her equipment, you must first defeat her in combat – a task easier said than done. The outcome of this battle can vary greatly based on your character’s level and gear; it could lead to a stunning victory or a crushing defeat. Here’s a simple strategy to help you outsmart Umbra and collect all her loot prematurely.
Where to Find Umbra in Oblivion Remastered
In the remastered version of Oblivion, Umbra can be found within the antiquated Ayelid Ruins of Vindasel, situated southwest of the Imperial City. Upon reaching this location, players must subdue a handful of malevolent wizards prior to venturing into the dungeon.
Before heading into the dungeon, make sure to stock up on arrows, a good bow, and healing potions.
Keep an eye out for rats and mudcrabs when exploring these ruins. Apart from the foes, there are holes in the ground emitting harmful gas, so be sure to steer clear of them as you delve further into Vindasel.
When you get to the final chamber, you’ll find Umbra positioned down below. Interacting with her is possible, though for now, there are no dialogue choices available since her mission is connected to the Clavicus Vile shrine.
How to Beat Umbra
Before engaging in combat, take note to stand on the pillar highlighted in the image provided above. Once you’re there, aim and fire an arrow at Umbra’s head to initiate the boss battle. She will then climb up the stairs towards your position, but won’t be able to harm you during this phase.
Players can use Conjuration spells to spawn allies to aid in the battle.
Continue aiming for headshots against Umbra, gradually reducing her vitality. Remember to maintain a safe distance, as approaching too closely will result in getting struck by her sword. When her health is exhausted, she’ll collapse to the ground, giving players the opportunity to acquire Umbra’s weapon and armor set.
Rewards for Defeating Umbra
After defeating Umbra, players will get the following items from her body.
- Umbra’s Ebony Shield
- Umbra (Sword with Soul Trap Enchantment)
- Umbra’s Ebony Boots
- Umbra’s Ebony Cuirass
- Umbra’s Ebony Gauntlets
- Umbra’s Ebony Greaves
- Umbra’s Ebony Helmet
Her armor collection boasts significant strength, particularly when obtained during the initial stages of the game. Notably, all of her equipment will adjust to match your character’s level progression. This means that as you advance and engage in combat with her at higher levels, there’s an opportunity for improved stats on her gear.
In the game ‘Oblivion Remastered’, Umbra’s sword stands out among other weapons due to its unique feature. After vanquishing foes, it automatically charges your Soul Gems without requiring the Soul Trap enchantment.
