10 Steam Games We All Want On Console

Steam serves as the go-to marketplace for computer games, offering an abundance of captivating titles that you can savor either solo or with companions.

To be clear, Steam does have a lot of poor quality games, but it also has exceptional ones that remain available. This list focuses specifically on those excellent titles.

These PC-only games make for an outstanding collection, if only they could also be found on gaming consoles. I’ve made an effort to incorporate a variety of game types, ranging from high-intensity multiplayer competitions to captivating cooperative indie experiences.

Viscera Cleanup Detail

It’s Time To Get Your Hands Dirty

Key Information

Details

Developer RuneStorm
Genre Simulator
Release Date October 2015

One intriguing peculiarity in the world of video games lies in the appeal of ‘Simulator’ genres. Surprisingly, many possess engaging gameplay patterns that are addictive, outshining expectations by being more enjoyable and skillfully constructed than one might initially suppose.

As a dedicated fan, I can tell you that even though Viscera Cleanup Detail doesn’t bear the label of ‘simulator’, it immerses you in the role of a first responder cleaner. The twist? You arrive at crime scenes where gruesome incidents have taken place, and your mission is to make it appear as though nothing at all had ever occurred.

As a devoted gamer, I’m often tasked with cleaning up blood spills, burning spent ammunition, and disposing of various debris. Some stages even mimic real-world locales, such as the ominous Event Horizon spacecraft.

As a gamer, I can’t get enough of Power Wash Simulator, but when it comes to simulation games, nothing beats Viscera Cleanup Detail in my book. Playing it with a jovial crew makes the experience all the more enjoyable!

If you’re a fan of Power Wash Simulator, you may be pleased to learn a sequel is in the works.

Content Warning

It Can’t Be This Hard, Right?

Key Information

Details

Developer Willnyl
Genre Co-Op Horror
Release Date April 2024

While we’re on the topic of games that shine with a group, we have to talk about Content Warning.

Last year saw the launch of “Content Warning“, a side-splitting cooperative game that blends humor with a touch of terror. In this game, you and your friends aim to create a popular YouTube channel sensation, armed with an invaluable resource: a monster-infested hole hidden at the end of your garden!

Your team should venture deep down to record top-quality videos. After that, the system automatically compiles highlights of your adventures and incorporates any voice conversations you’ve had during the process.

You can spend your hard-earned YT money on better gear to make even better content for your fans.

8.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer

Unleash Your Inner Street Racer

Tokyo Xtreme Racer is a brilliant street racing game with old-school PS2 vibes.

Previously, the game was playable on PS2 and Dreamcast systems. However, this year it made its debut on Steam Early Access. If you’re a fan of vintage racers and love fine-tuning your vehicle, TXR 25 is an obvious choice for you. The races are usually one-on-one competitions, which gives them a very intimate and personal feel.

Additionally, there are numerous thrilling boss battles, and you have the option to purchase their stylish vehicles as well, following your victories.

Initially, many gamers anticipated the game would be released on consoles once it left Early Access. However, a recently published FAQ suggests that the possibility is rather uncertain and leaning more towards ‘perhaps’.

7.
Half-Life Alyx

The Strong Silent Type

The “Half-Life” series is renowned for its exceptional first-person shooter games, created by Valve. While “Half-Life 2” was initially included in the outstanding “Orange Box” compilation some time ago, “Alyx” continues to be exclusive to Steam.

Half-Life Alyx is undoubtedly one of the most immersive VR shooter games available today, boasting hardware capabilities that are rarely matched by others. Despite my reservations about Sony’s dedication towards virtual reality, I believe that if this game were added to the PSVR2 library, it would be truly remarkable.

In the game Alyx, melee combat and puzzles are simply incredible, while shooting feels smooth, silky, and highly satisfying. When it was released in 2020, it was a powerhouse game, and I’m confident that either the PS5 or the upgraded PS5 Pro has the capabilities to handle its demands.

6.
The Witcher

Humble Beginnings

The Witcher 3, undeniably, is one of the top-tier fantasy video games available today. The exceptional DLC, Blood and Wine, only enhances its appeal. Interestingly, while The Witcher 3 shines brilliantly, it’s important to note that the earlier installments, The Witcher 1 & 2, feel somewhat outdated and less polished compared to the latest version. Remarkably, you might not realize this, but the original Witcher game was never released on a console.

Frankly speaking, I’ve tried my hand at the original Witcher series, but found it quite challenging to adapt initially. It seems rather puzzling to me that experiencing Geralt’s initial journey is inaccessible if one doesn’t have a personal computer.

The title certainly has its value, and it’s a pleasure to witness iconic elements from this series in their most original state. With the current trend favoring re-imaginings and enhancements, wouldn’t it be fitting to pay tribute to the series as well?

5.
Satisfactory

Let The Busy Work Complete Itself

I’ve made an effort to ensure the list omits titles that might not function seamlessly on a controller. While Satisfactory doesn’t natively support the peripheral, it can potentially work if properly configured.

It’s clear that the creators of the game “Satisfactory” had a specific vision in mind when they chose its name. Essentially, it’s a game about automation, if you will. The gameplay experience is incredibly rewarding, providing a charming blend of exploration and intricate base construction.

In terms of this specific genre, I must admit I’m more of a casual gamer, but Satisfactory stands out as incredibly user-friendly for beginners. Rest assured, there’s plenty of depth for those who seek it, and it’s easy to understand why so many players find themselves investing hundreds of hours into the game.

4.
Last Epoch

Another ARPG Heavy Hitter

Last Epoch” is an exceptional Action Role-Playing Game, fitting snugly into a gap in the market between “Diablo IV” and “Path of Exile“. While both these games have been released on consoles, “Last Epoch” offers a unique experience.

In simpler terms, “Last Epoch” is tougher than Blizzard’s game but less punishing than “Path of Exile”. It offers a rewarding gameplay loop for loot enthusiasts, featuring five initial classes to explore and 15 advanced ones.

Just like top-tier games within their category, it offers opportunities for strategic optimization (min-maxing), and there are numerous exciting items to enhance your gaming experiences.

3.
Counter-Strike 2

Valve’s Classic FPS

As a hardcore gamer, diving into Counter-Strike 2 feels like stepping onto the battlefield of a new generation. It’s Valve’s fresh take on their tactical shooter, where every bullet counts and survival depends on my skill, patience, and deep understanding of the map layouts.

In general, consoles tend to be less abundant when it comes to this particular gaming genre, but there are some standouts like “Rainbow Six: Siege”. The gameplay mechanics revolve around a simple concept, where teams swap between offensive and defensive roles.

It’s unfortunate that first-person shooter games like CS2 don’t have a version available for controllers. Even Valorant, a game similar to CS2, has been released on consoles following its initial PC exclusivity.

It requires effort to make the game control smoothly with the thumbsticks, but there’s nothing about the hardware that prevents this from happening.

2.
FTL: Faster Than Light

There Are No Rules In Space

When it comes to standout games in the Roguelite genre, titles such as “The Binding of Isaac”, “Slay the Spire”, and “Enter the Gungeon” often spring to mind. However, another timeless favorite that doesn’t usually get mentioned is “Faster Than Light”. Interestingly, despite its popularity, “Faster Than Light” has never been released on a console platform.

In this game, players are entrusted with managing a spaceship on a journey through the cosmos. As the story progresses, you’ll need to recruit a team to assist you. A few missteps could lead to your ship being swallowed by the vast expanse of nothingness in space.

In the game FTL, there are numerous ingenious mechanics at play. For instance, you have the option to momentarily halt time, providing you with the opportunity to strategize your next move. Additionally, you can extinguish fires by cutting off their oxygen supply through thoughtful airlock management. The game FTL is both intricate and user-friendly, which is a pity because it’s currently only accessible on PC and iOS devices.

1.
Schedule 1

Time To Cook Some Chilli P

At present, Schedule 1 is currently the most captivating title. The reason for its popularity lies in its unique blend: it essentially functions as a game simulating a drug lord or a character similar to that from Breaking Bad, while simultaneously offering a comforting gaming experience with an alluring artistic design and numerous amusing features.

One advantage of Schedule 1 lies in its versatility, accommodating various approaches to gameplay. It allows for full automation through dealers and workers if desired, or offers the option to manually craft your strategies and personally deliver your creations.

At the point of this writing, Schedule 1 is currently available for early access. We can only imagine what exciting developments lie ahead for this outstanding independent game as it continues its journey.
