In the thrilling adventure that awaits players in Oblivion Remastered, some captivating quests are linked to specific guilds. Kick-starting your journey with the Thieves’ Guild is the challenge named “May the Best Thief Win”. To embark on this covert operation, you must pilfer Amantius Allectus’ Diary from his residence. This mission pits you against fellow thieves in a race to see who can retrieve the diary first. Successfully completing this task grants you membership into the elusive Thieves’ Guild. Here’s how you can effortlessly trace the location of Amantius Allectus’ Diary and conquer this challenge in Oblivion Remastered.
Where to Find to Start the “May The Best Thief Win” Quest in Oblivion Remastered
Once players are apprehended for burglary within Oblivion Remastered and their quest with the Thieves’ Guild begins, they should seek out Armand in the Imperial City Waterfront District at midnight (12 PM). To prove your membership in the Thieves’ Guild to him, you must initially present the Cryptic Note.
After everyone gathers, Armand will quickly explain the plan for retrieving Amantius Allectus’ Diary without causing him harm. It’s crucial that the team moves swiftly towards Amantius’ House, as other initiates may also be attempting to reach there first and claim the diary before you do.
If you don’t have any lockpicks on you, make sure to buy some from Armand before you head out.
Location of Amantius Allectus’ Diary
Amantius Allectus’ House is situated within the Temple Quarter of the Imperial City, as depicted in ‘Oblivion Remastered’. To find its exact location, consider tipping a beggar resting near Armand. Whether you decide to bribe the beggar or not, navigate your way to the Temple District. Upon arrival in this area, start moving to the right and then turn into a row of houses.
Immediately upon reaching the large gate, take a right turn and you’ll come across Amantius Allectus’ House. The entrance is locked, but there’s an easy way to pick it open. Upon entering, glance towards your right to locate a reading desk. Open it to retrieve Amantius Allectus’ Diary.
After approximately 8 hours, if you haven’t obtained the diary yet, another thief might succeed in doing so. To prevent this, you should track the quest indicators and recover the diary from that rival thief, then make your way back to Armand.
Go ahead and rejoin Armand in the Waterfront District, and reveal to him the contents of the diary – this is the final step to complete the ‘May the Best Thief Win’ mission. Once done, you’ll be granted access into the Thieves’ Guild within Oblivion Remastered, allowing you to embark on the following missions they have in store for you.
