With One Piece moving ever closer to its concluding chapter, it’s hard not to sense a growing heaviness upon our long-time companions. Many of these characters stand on the precipice of wrapping up their adventures, even as they remain strong and driven by their aspirations.

It’s well-known that the looming darkness in the upcoming storyline may not allow all characters to reach the end. The prospect of parting ways with our beloved characters will be tough, but it seems inevitable that some character deaths will give the saga a powerful and fitting conclusion. With this in mind, here is a list of characters I believe are most at risk as One Piece approaches its final act:

* Monkey D. Luffy – The main protagonist, Luffy has faced numerous hardships throughout the series. However, his determination to become the Pirate King may ultimately lead to his demise in a climactic battle.
* Roronoa Zoro – As one of Luffy’s closest comrades and an exceptional swordsman, Zoro’s fate is uncertain but likely to be significant. He may have to make the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of their crew or the world.
* Nami – Known for her intelligence and resourcefulness, Nami plays a vital role in navigating the Grand Line. Her death could bring a poignant end to the story as she protects her friends and the treasure they seek.
* Usopp – Initially portrayed as a cowardly sniper, Usopp has grown into a reliable member of the Straw Hat Pirates. His demise may serve as a reminder of the heavy cost of their journey and the bonds they share.
* Tony Tony Chopper – The reindeer-man doctor on Luffy’s crew, Chopper’s gentle nature and loyalty make him an endearing character. However, his unique abilities could lead to a heartbreaking sacrifice in service of others.
* Sanji – The skilled chef with a complicated past, Sanji may be forced to confront his deepest fears and make the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of love or honor.
* Brook – The undead musician, Brook’s knowledge of music and the history of piracy could play a crucial role in the final battles. His demise might serve as a poignant reminder of the passage of time and the fleeting nature of life.

Monkey D. Garp

The Price Of Choosing Between Duty And Family

Garp’s passing seems a fitting end to his journey. Through his roles as a Marine hero and a guiding force for key characters in the series, he has witnessed and experienced numerous events.

Furthermore, given the perceived corruption in global governments, Koby’s ascent, and Luffy’s position as the champion of liberation, Garp’s demise seems to mark the beginning of a new phase. In such circumstances, Garp might be confronted with a difficult decision: loyalty to his former Marine colleagues or support for the freedom that his family, Dragon, and Luffy advocate.

Because Garp witnessed Ace’s death during the Marineford arc, it’s plausible that he would have been willing to sacrifice himself to aid his kin, potentially earning a second opportunity to set things straight.

The Mentor Who Must Fall For The Future To Rise

In One Piece, it’s possible that the demise of the captain of the Red-Hair Pirates could occur when he recognizes that Luffy has reached a stage where he is prepared to assume the leadership role and achieve his destiny. Shanks, by sacrificing his hand at Foosha Village and passing on his straw hat, indicated that he believed in Luffy’s potential strongly enough to wait for him to grow much stronger.

Shanks stood patiently on the sidelines for such a prolonged period, giving the impression that he might be waiting for some sort of indication, perhaps a message from Gol D. Roger. It’s possible that Shanks’ pursuit of the Gomu Gomu devil fruit, now known as the Hito Hito no Mi, was not coincidental at all.

It’s thought that Shanks might be aware of the identity of the One Piece, acting as a quiet protector for Luffy. He seems ready to sacrifice himself if necessary, to help Luffy achieve his ultimate destiny.

Blackbeard is relentless and shrewd, willing to go to any lengths to reach his objectives, regardless of the consequences. He’s unlikely to give up without a fight, but it seems inevitable that his downfall is required for global harmony to be maintained.

In the Grand Line, the power of the Devil Fruit goes against nature, and Blackbeard holds not one but two such fruits. Defeating him would strengthen Luffy’s claim to be the Pirate King, considering that antagonists in the One Piece universe usually meet their demise.

The Inevitable Consequences Of An Unstable Alliance

At first, Kuzan was depicted as a character upholding solid moral values. However, following his exit from the Marines and joining forces with the Blackbeard Pirates, his actions became harder to forecast within the storyline. It’s more likely that Kuzan’s association with Blackbeard may not stem from loyalty.

Indeed, there are suggestions and conjectures implying that he might be operating as a secret spy working for two sides. If Kuzan is indeed a dual-allegiance agent, he’s subtly sabotaging Blackbeard. The hidden nature of his double life may ultimately lead to repercussions for him.

Additionally, Kuzan might choose to give up his life to thwart Blackbird’s ominous plans or objectives, as he becomes increasingly burdened by being linked to Blackbeard’s aspirations. The sense of obligation to rectify past mistakes may feel heavy upon him. In the world of One Piece, Kuzan’s demise appears to be an unavoidable outcome.

A Reckoning Long Overdue

Discussing Akainu inevitably brings to mind his significant actions during the Marineford arc, most notably the tragic death of Ace. Given the obligation Akainu owes Ace, redemption seems possible only through his own demise.

Furthermore, Akainu’s idea of absolute justice is relentless and shows no compassion. He was prepared to take Sabo’s life when he attempted to halt the carnage at Marineford.

In the realm of One Piece, genuine freedom can only exist if his notion of justice is wiped away. Despite holding the rank of a fleet admiral, he yearns to participate in the chaotic happenings across the Grand Line. When the climactic storyline unfolds, he will receive what is rightfully due to him.

Bartholomeo Kuma

A Glimpse Of Finality

Kuma underwent transformation into a cyborg, essentially losing his human traits, which placed him in stark contrast with his past beliefs. For numerous years, he served as a slave to the Celestial Dragons, enduring mistreatment and damage, yet there remained within him a trace of his old self.

When Kuma departed from the Revolutionary Army camp gravely injured, heading towards Bonney at Egghead, it indicates that he wasn’t entirely shattered or defeated. However, the current condition of Kuma is uncertain since Straw Hat pirates and Bonney are now in Elbaf, leaving Kuma’s whereabouts unknown.

Despite surviving the Egghead arc, there remains doubt if Kuma’s severely damaged body can withstand the turmoil of the final storyline. Although the existence of Lilith, one of Vegapunk’s bodies, might allow for a reconstruction of Kuma, considering his past ordeals, death could be the only means to free him from the torment that his body and mind now endure. It would serve as a fitting conclusion as One Piece reaches its climax.

The Weight Of Zoro’s Dream

For quite some time now, I’ve been doggedly chasing after my ambition to be recognized as the best swordsman globally, but that title has always eluded me due to the formidable presence of Mihawk. The distance between us is colossal, and it seems that only a fateful encounter can bring about a narrowing of this gap – either by his demise or my own ascent.

If neither swordfighter can survive, they must concede, an outcome that seems unlikely given their high regard for themselves. In essence, the contest to determine the supreme swordsman will unfold as a fatal duel within the world of One Piece.

Yet, the grand finale won’t truly peak unless Zoro becomes known as the foremost swordsman.

A Brave Warrior Of The Sea

In terms of predicting which Straw Hat pirate might not survive the final arc of One Piece, it seems likely that Usopp could be the one. When we were initially introduced to him, he was a young boy marked by fear and self-doubt, often resorting to fabricating stories as a means to mask his insecurities.

In simpler terms, Usopp aspires to be a valiant sea warrior, a goal that seems at odds with his timid nature. Yet, even though he’s often filled with self-doubt and exhibits cowardly behavior, he has proven his bravery in crucial situations, such as during the Dressrosa arc when he defended his crew. This suggests that Usopp may be braver than he believes.

As One Piece approaches its ending, it appears that Usopp’s role in the final act may involve self-sacrifice – a fitting challenge for a true sea warrior. To fully embody the title of this brave marine hero, Usopp must confront his most significant trial: becoming a warrior prepared to give everything for the dream he has chased throughout his life.

A Bigger Role To Play

The fact that Law managed to withstand his confrontation with Blackbeard indicates that he has an essential part yet to play, one that could potentially save a crucial character in the upcoming climax. The power of Law’s Devil Fruit is highly valued, even prompting Donquixote Doflamingo to desire its infinity.

The Ope Ope no Mi devil fruit has the ability to perform surgeries granting immortality, but it comes at the cost of the user’s life. Characters such as Imu, the Five Elders, and the Holy Knights are formidable figures who would likely confront the liberators in the climactic storyline.

Clearly, the might of Imu and the Five Elders is immense, and the origin of their strength remains unexplained. Essentially, defeating such formidable beings seems almost impossible, yet Law could potentially offer a solution or an unexpected way out.
