On May 25th, Pokemon GO is set to launch Gigantamax Machamp for its upcoming Max Battle Day! Players should be excited as there will be numerous special bonuses and Timed Research tasks during this period.
In the popular game Pokemon GO, multiple Dynamax Pokemon are present, but as of the Max Out season in September 2024, only eight Gigantamax creatures have been introduced. Among these were several beloved characters like the Kanto starters, Gengar, and Lapras, which joined the game in the same year. More recently, during April 2025’s Max Battle Day, Gigantamax Snorlax was added to the roster. Now, another Gen 1 Gigantamax creature is set to make its appearance in the mobile game.
On Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, Gigantamax Machamp will officially appear in Pokemon GO during a Max Battle Day event. In these battles, players can engage in six-star Max Battles against the giant Pokemon, and there’s even a chance to encounter a shimmering version of it. Additionally, trainers will receive double Max Particles for exploring, and other special bonuses may be available. Gigantamax Machamp was hinted at in the trailer for Pokemon GO‘s Might and Mastery Season and marks the first Fighting-type Pokemon of this kind in the game. However, it’s important to note that this version of Gigantamax Machamp cannot be transferred to Pokemon HOME.

Besides Gigantamax Machamp, the Might and Mastery Season is set to introduce the much-awaited Dynamax Pokemon Urshifu.
