Summary
- A new Oblivion Remastered mod expands the Dark Brotherhood questline with over 100 repeatable contracts.
- Mod adds Dark Tokens as new currency for rewards, allowing players to spin for random items.
- Despite lacking official mod support, Oblivion Remastered already has over 2,600 mods available.
In the recently updated version of “Oblivion Remastered,” a new mod significantly extends the Dark Brotherhood questline. This means players can keep engaging in the Dark Brotherhood’s sinister activities beyond the main storyline conclusion. The Dark Brotherhood, a compelling aspect of “Oblivion Remastered” since the original game, continues to shine brighter with these updates, making it even more enjoyable.
Although Bethesda doesn’t officially endorse modding for Oblivion Remastered, it was inevitable that the enthusiastic community would start creating additional content for the game. Amazingly, just a few weeks after its release, Nexus Mods reports over 2,600 mods available to the public – an impressive figure considering the game’s youthful age. It remains to be seen if Oblivion Remastered can ever rival Skyrim’s massive collection of 110,000 mods on Nexus Mods, but it’s still early days.
The mod under discussion goes by the name “Dark Brotherhood – Infinitum” and is available on Nexus Mods from user ColdTyrant. As per the developer, this mod introduces more than 100 randomly selected assassination contracts that can be repeated indefinitely, each offering level-based gold rewards for completing the target. These contracts are acquired from the Cheydinhal Sanctuary within the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion Remastered, and they’re dispersed across the game’s main cities. New non-playable characters (NPCs) will be created for each contract to ensure players don’t inadvertently eliminate crucial characters for other quests.
New Oblivion Remastered Mod Allows Dark Brotherhood Questline to Continue Forever
Finishing any contract within the “Dark Brotherhood – Infinitum” expansion earns players Dark Tokens, a freshly minted currency exclusive to this Oblivion Remastered mod. These tokens can be utilized with the reappearing character Creeper, who harks back to Morrowind. In the words of ColdTyrant, this system is a “win-or-lose Bonus Reward Gacha,” allowing players to take a spin for a variety of random prizes. Ultimately, it’s an engaging expansion that prolongs the entertainment even after players have wrapped up the main Dark Brotherhood storyline.
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t wait to see where the modding community takes the recently launched Oblivion Remastered. Historically, Bethesda games have thrived long after their initial release due to the tireless work of modders. Skyrim is a prime example, with its active modding scene keeping it alive and well on Steam. The possibilities for Oblivion Remastered are immense and clear as day.
