To mark the 10th anniversary of Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+, they have teamed up with several anime studios to create new anime adaptations from one-shot manga stories previously published on their platform. The three studios participating in this project are WIT STUDIO, famous for producing the first three seasons of Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan, CONTRAIL, a studio that often provides in-between animation for prominent anime productions, and Production I.G, renowned for their work adapting Shirow Masamune’s Ghost in the Shell.
Following the unveiling of an art show, a tribute to the 10th anniversary of Shonen Jump+, which was initially announced in December 2024 and opened on April 18, lasting until May 18, this fresh endeavor has now been initiated.
Instead of solely enjoying Shōnen Jump+ through the app, this exhibition offers fans an immersive experience by showcasing various forms like artwork, videos, and three-dimensional models. Our goal is to highlight the appeal of Shōnen Jump+, emphasizing works from the past decade, including popular titles such as Spy x Family, Kaiju No. 8, and DANDADAN.

About the New Collaboration
The Venture Is Led By JOEN

The joint venture between Aniplex, CloverWorks (the studio behind “Spy x Family”), WIT Studio, and Shueisha (Shōnen Jump publisher) named JOEN will oversee the collaborative project with anime studios under the Shōnen Jump+ banner. This partnership was formed in May 2022. At this time, specific details about the one-shots that are being prepared for adaptation have not been disclosed. However, additional information can be expected to be shared on the Shōnen Jump+ 10th anniversary website and within the digital publication itself.
Shōnen Jump+ made its debut on September 22, 2014, and quickly gained recognition for hosting popular series such as Spy x Family, Kaiju No. 8, DANDADAN, the sequel to Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man, and Yūji Kaku’s Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku. The surge in popularity of Tatsuya Endo’s Spy x Family attracted a new readership to Shōnen Jump+, particularly among female audiences. However, it was also the magazine’s more lenient content guidelines for mature themes that contributed to its growing popularity compared to the traditional flagship version. As of 2022, the Shōnen Jump+ app has been downloaded over 19 million times, with approximately 4.6 million active users each week.
