We were astounded by the expansive landscape initially, only to be swiftly overpowered by the Tree Sentinel or mocked for being without a maidenhood. It was fun! Yet, nothing could have warned us about our initial encounter with an elevator leading underground.

In that moment, it became clear to us that not only does The Lands Between boast a vast surface world, but FromSoftware also constructed an equally expansive underground realm teeming with its own hidden tales and enigmas. Navigating through the labyrinthine, eerie passages, we eventually uncovered one of Elden Ring’s most intriguing puzzles: colossal skeletons enthroned.

As a gamer, I initially assumed that skeleton would rise to engage us in a boss battle, but surprisingly, it remained lifeless. It’s uncommon for FromSoftware to clarify anything about their Souls series games. But if they ever did, this question would be among those we’d most want to pose to Miyazaki.
