Summary
- Elden Ring’s massive underground skeletons on thrones still baffle fans to this day.
- Theories about the skeletons range from resurrection attempts to leaders of the underground cities.
- Just tell us, Miyazaki!
Approximately three years past, our adventure in Elden Ring’s The Lands Between began. We were astounded by the expansive landscape initially, only to be swiftly overpowered by the Tree Sentinel or mocked for being without a maidenhood. It was fun! Yet, nothing could have warned us about our initial encounter with an elevator leading underground.
In that moment, it became clear to us that not only does The Lands Between boast a vast surface world, but FromSoftware also constructed an equally expansive underground realm teeming with its own hidden tales and enigmas. Navigating through the labyrinthine, eerie passages, we eventually uncovered one of Elden Ring’s most intriguing puzzles: colossal skeletons enthroned.
Elden Ring Fans Are Still Unsure Of The Giant Under Ground Skeletons
As a gamer, I initially assumed that skeleton would rise to engage us in a boss battle, but surprisingly, it remained lifeless. Over the years, numerous theories have emerged among the gaming community, mostly stemming from ambiguous item descriptions or data mining findings. Even three years post-launch, we’re still waiting for a clear, definitive explanation.
Since that time, numerous theories have emerged, yet none sound conclusive. To this day, enthusiasts continue to question whether anyone has unraveled the mystery. Some hypotheses propose these events aimed to capture Godwyn’s spirit within a new physical form for the purpose of resurrection.
The comment suggests that Gowry refers to the Sellians as the descendants of the Eternal Cities, hinting that these cities were established by Nox who miraculously escaped being buried with them. This implies that whatever the giant corpses are, they’re exclusive to the cities and can’t be replicated on the surface, as suggested by the absence of a body in their grand chair-like structure known as a Chair-Crypt.
It’s uncommon for FromSoftware to clarify anything about their Souls series games. But if they ever did, this question would be among those we’d most want to pose to Miyazaki.
